Small DHS Entertainment update

Just thought I would post a small update about some things going on at the studio.

Mike and Sully from Monsters INC. will be moving to a new location by the end of the month. They will be relocated to the streets of America were guest will be transported into the monster world to meet Mike and Sully as they switch over the scream factory to the laugh factory. This move is in preparation for the new show going into the ABC theater.

Block Party Bash floats begin arriving this week and are being assembled in the cast parking lot. Expect a soft opening March 8th or 9th.

Work continues on the Backlot Theater and may move into the main toll plaza road sometime this month.

So the ABC theater will house a Monster's Inc show??? I'm not sure I understood exactly what you meant.

Currently the Monsters INC. cast break in the ABC talent break room. Also the costumes are stored on the stage itself. All there doing is moving the meet and Greet to the streets of america.

I still can't believe all the changes they've had to make in order to bring BPB to the Studios. I sure hope the parade is a smashing success, for the sake of those that wanted to move it.

Did I miss something? What changes were made at the studio to bring it over? As i see it it is another parade taking the spot of a ok parade that ran way too long and lost most of it's wow power when they got rid of the walking MC's.

As far as them getting it over there fast... it was packed up right after it did its last "showing" last sunday. It was very sad, this parade has such great energy and power in its show stops, but the last day just before it started rain hit and all we got was a wave goodbye as it did the route not doing the show stops.

So far very little has been done on the show side of the park. Backstage is a completely different story. It is an $8 million project after all.

Why would work "move into the main toll plaza road"? That is puzzling. Can you add some more information?:veryconfu

Nice to see the Studios is getting attention. They're really focusing on Pixar for the park now it seems. Oh well, we'll just have to see what happens. :)

Just to add to the speculation, the Wardrobe facility is moving to a new location. Just another indication the Backlot Tour is being slowly dismantled and Pixar should have plenty of room to expand for years and years IMO :)

Well I have heard that the theater has been completely gutted and the stage striped and is being completely refurbed. There was mention of turning it into a black box but not an actual black box (if that makes any sence) and the addition of a fly system (which sounds highly unlikely since there is no fly space in the theater to begin with!) Also, rumor has it the completion date for the refurb is early February (around the 8th if I remember correctly.) When the new show opens is anyone's guess. The last I heard it was going to be something along the lines of American Idol or Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader. Of course take your daily amount of salt with this bit of information.

Well, i have no clue on what they are putting in.

My guess is that it will be announced VERY soon along side one of the tv shows on the air.

I am leaning towards Lost, Grey's Anatomy, American Idol, or Dancing with the Stars. Most likely Lost or American idol. Most likely American Idol. It premieres very soon, so watch out.

The show in the ABC Theater opens in May, so they better get their act together. (that was the last update i got)

And they said "its as good if not better then any other show on Disney World's property." Of course, that is subjective.
