Me too!! I do not see what all the whoopla is about and I sure would not wait in a long line for it.

Completely agree. It doesn't have enough (or any) theming to make it feel any different than a coaster at a regional theme park. Thus, I'm not waiting that long for it. Decent family coaster but not jaw-dropping.

Test Track (old and new) feels like a dark ride with a faster section added. Longer ride time, actual themed sets, and a better experience overall than Slink Dog, in my opinion.

How is this not a landslide for Test Track.

Slinky dog is a kiddie ride and Test Track is a true thrill ride in the high-speed test.

As for theming, Slinky has minimal theming and Test Track, although they ruined it when they switched it from the testing theme to the designing/Tron look, Test Track has complete theming even in its current lower quality designing/Tron theme.

Don’t tell the Velocicoaster crowd about an un themed coaster… Slinky is a fun, short, and sweet ride. It just makes you feel like a kid to ride for some reason, and it’s a good time for the young and young at heart. At nighttime, though they need to replace more than half the lights on the track, watching the embedded leds race the train is super pretty.

I like Test Track, and while it is more themed than Slinky Dog, its maintenance issues and persistent lack of onride audio ruin it for me. If those issues weren’t present, Test Track would blow Slinky out of the water, but because of those issues, Test Track and Slinky are pretty even for me.

I actually love Velocicoaster (I'm a bit of a coaster junkie) but it doesn't pretend too much. It's fast and has that awesome section as it cuts in, through, and around the rocklike concrete and waterfall. The second launch is great and, as a coaster, it hits on all cylinders. Due to the more thrilling nature and overall better ride experience (including the queue which was themed pretty well), I would wait 45 minutes to ride Velocicoaster whereas I don't really need to ride Slink Dog again (unless the line is 20 minutes or less). I just don't understand the wait times for Slink Dog aside from the fact that it's one of two coasters at Studios and not thrilling which makes it approved for the younger set. Of course, I love Spaceship Earth, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder, Everest, and most rides at Disney World. UNI/IOA is a one day trip for us but WDW is multiple days and not just for the rides.

However, I was comparing Slinky and Test Track. As you stated perfectly, Test Track needs to be maintained better and could use some onboard audio with the car but I still prefer it over Slinky. It's also difficult because they are totally different rides for a comparison. A better comparison would be maybe Dinosaur vs Test Track or Slinky vs 7 Dwarves Mine Train.

I love Velocicoaster as well, but it is often referred to as the “best themed rollercoaster”. Sure, the animatronics in the queue are great, but it’s the best roller coaster. As you stated well, it doesn’t pretend to be anything but a high speed, thrilling rollercoaster. It also helps that it’s themed to being a ride at a theme park, so it’s almost themed by default 😂.

Best themed coaster goes to either Hagrids Motorbike or Big Thunder Mountain. Big Grizzly Mountain could right there but I haven't been on it yet. Taron is another well-themed coaster.

best themed coaster goes to OG Everest

I almost gave it the nod but BTMRR wins for theming (just my opinion) and Hagrids has the best ride experience with good theming throughout. Just my questionable opinion. Let's not get into a fight about the anthropomorphizing of coasters, though.:angelic:

I don’t know the reasoning, but I think it has something to do with Chevrolet wanting to showcase their cars as “high tech” and what not. LOVED the old Test Track, but in the world of cars, people want the newest and best. 2.0 makes it (from a 2010s lense) seem like Chevrolet is technologically advanced and thus makes their brand more enticing for the consumer. On the other hand, nothing was “newer or better” with the testing and car design processes in 1.0.

I think 2.0 was made to showcase their cars through the 2010 lense, when everyone wanted “high-tech” cars.
Chevy makes garbage besides the Corvette.
