Slideshow program?

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to be asking this, but does anyone have any suggestions for a good slideshow program?
I have thousands of photos on my computer, a bunch of them being from Disney trips. Instead of making more photo albums, I was interested in making one in the form of a DVD so I can show my friends and family.
So, if anyone has any ideas of a DVD slideshow program in which I can show different trips and such, I would be greatly appreciative.
Thank you very much

If you're on a PC, I've found Plus! Photo Story 2 (part of Microsfot's Plus! Digital Media Edition) is very easy to use and has good basic effects. You can do even more with soundtracks if you integrate it with Window's Movie Maker. It's not much money, around $20. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/plus/dme/dmehome.asp

I also used ProShow Gold for Windows which is more expensive and more complex, but does the same things (with better fine-tuning.) http://www.photodex.com/products/proshow/

Now that I've switched to a Mac, I find iPhoto quite servicable for home slideshows.

For overall photo management, I highly recommend Photoshop Elements 3 (now 4, but it's not gotten great reviews) with it's bundled album organizer. I think it has a slideshow feature, but it might not give you as many options as Photo Story 2 or ProShow Gold.

I use Pictures2Exe usually. It is fast and easy. My favorite. Also, it can export out to make DVDs/CDr (If you have video software thats compatible). Can make EXE or SCR (screensavers) Not as many features as ProShow Gold.

Other ones I have tried,
Proshow Gold - It is OK. Too much fluff that i dont use.
Flipalbum - Expensive, annoying
Irfanview - quick, no music shows. Free
Powerpoint - I hate MS Office... it is expensive too. enough said.
