Six questions!

We will be there this time next week! Here are my last minute questions:

1. Are food and drinks allowed on Disney buses? I'm assuming no!

2. At this time of year, does Main Street usually open 30 minutes or so before official MK opening?

3. What is Turtle Talk at Epcot? A show or a ride? What ages is it good for? How crowded will it likely be?

4. On Disney's website under April "Operational Updates" it lists Wonders of Life and Timekeeper as "open seasonally". It makes no mention of Carousel of Progress at all (except in the regular attractions listing). Does this mean that CoP will be operating and the other two closed? Or the reverse?

5. One day, we are going to Blizzard Beach right when it opens. Around 1 or 2pm, we plan to head over to World Showcase at Epcot. In the "Unofficial Guidebook" travel time from BB to Epcot is listed as 29 to 62 minutes and then we will STILL have to walk through Future World to get to WS! Since travel time between BB and Boardwalk and BB and Y&B Club is listed at 21-41 minutes and only 8-31 minutes between BB and Dolphin, should we catch a bus to one of these resorts instead of the Epcot bus? Granted, we will still have to walk or water taxi from one of these resorts to the International Gateway, but then that might not take much longer than walking all the way through Future World to get to WS? I've never been to any of the Epcot area resorts. Is it hard to find the water taxis to Epcot? Is walking to Epcot faster anyway? Would it really matter which Epcot resort bus we took? If we did this, would it be best to just take the first bus that comes?
If we do take a bus from BB to one of the Epcot resorts and enter WS through the I. Gateway, this creates another dilemma. It seems that there are no lockers(to store a backpack full of heavy wet towels!) at I. Gateway. Are lockers only located at Epcot entrance? I read that towels can be rented at BB for $1 each. Anybody ever rented towels at a Disney Water park? Is this a bad idea? It would eliminate the need for a locker.

6. How can I find out what time the Electical Water Padgent passes by the Contemporary this time of year? Does it run nightly?

This is really alot more than just six questions! Thanks in advance for any answers you might have!

Gail,

I can answer only one of your questions--number 3.

Turtle Talk is a hoot! Definitely for all ages, and especially the little ones. It is basically an audience-interactive interview with Crush, from "Finding Nemo." Obviously there is someone out-of-sight who is able to hear and see the audience and responds in real time with Crush's Australian accent and demeanor. We were there in December, and all my kids (ages 16, 13 and 8) were in stitches as were the adults in attendance. Crush fields questions from the audiences and makes comments along the way. For instance, one woman (an adult) asked him how much he weighs and after feigning some offense, Crush answered that sea turtles generally weigh 500 to 600 pounds. But then he turned it around and said to the woman questioner that fair is fair and since he told us his weight, she had to tell us her weight. In talking with the little ones, he referred to "parental units" and similar "hip" terms. Again, it was hilarious and a lot of fun for all.

I'll take number 6 - http://allearsnet.com/tp/ewp.htm (edited - oops, look like someone beat me!)

I missed turtle talk. I was so excited to see it but as soon as we sat down my daughter started a huge screaming temper tantrum so I had to leave less than 30 seconds into the show. Guess I'll catch it next time.

As far as number 1 goes, I've never had a Disney bus driver tell me to stop eating or drinking on the bus. As long as you aren't rude and leave a mess behind, should not be a problem.

They may not say anything to you while you are doing it, as their eyes are on the road of course. But they do have an announcement at the beginning of every bus trip saying not to eat or drink on any Disney transportation.

1. I have never had a problem with food or drinks on the bus. Just use common sense and you should be fine.
2. Not sure. I think it does.
3. Great show. Ages 0-100.D-troops article
4. Kind of hit or miss with those attractions. If you are lucky they will be open.
5. I think your quickest route would be to take a bus to the Boardwalk and walk to Epcot. The entrance from the Boardwalk to EPCOT is located in the world showcase between England and France.

#2 - I thought it was an hour before official park opening, but I may be wrong.

#4 - Yup, CoP will be open, but check the Daily Updates flyer for the exact hours of operation. Most likely WoL and Timekeeper will be closed. :(
