My 17 yro couldn't even handle watching the video footage. Wow! It's awful seeing those beautiful, so rare cars just tossed about the big hole in the ground. Watching them tumble in is mind boggling. 8 cars went in, 6 owned by the museum & 2 on loan from GM.

I hope the recovery is well documented as I think it'd be totally fascinating to see the cars hoisted from the hole then follow their restorations.

I think any 'car person' can grasp how awful this event is. Wow. Just wow.

Poor DS17 says the Mallett makes him the most sick. The kiddo loves loves loves 'Vettes. That's what he wanted to buy for himself but we talked him down to an '07 Mustang GT as his starter. He's such a car geek. Loves loves loves cars. Always has.

For me, I'm totally fascinated by sinkholes. I grew up in Central Florida. In fact, we moved there just before the Winter Park sinkhole took a bunch of cars off the lot of Roger Holler Chevrolet. I remember seeing the fences and that big hole.

I'm trying to get links to add but I'm not real swooft with that stuff on the newish-to-me iPad. My apologies. It's all over the news and simple to search using keywords corvette museum sinkhole.

This was a big topic of discussion this afternoon at work. People were stunned to see the picture of the cars in the sinkhole. We were also surprised to learn that there even was such a thing as a Corvette Museum!

Been to Bowling Green, took the tour of the assembly plant near the museum. At the museum saw the 1,000,000th and the Mallett and others. There is some drone video online of them flying a video camera down in the sinkhole. Some of the cars are completely buried. Off to one side, way deep, but not completely buried under the dirt, you can see number 1,000,000. Man that is one expensive hole. What really amazes me is they said the rest of the museum is still open. They even have a 1983 (rarest of the rare) at the museum...but don't think it is in the hole.

If you type in search sinkhole you would be surprised how many stories there are on this sinkhole/museum. Not being mean, but this might up there tourism now with drawing attention to the museum.
