Hey all, I am a single father with a 6 year old daughter. I will be spending a week at WDW starting 10/22 (can't wait). This will be my first time at WDW with only my daughter. Can any single mom's or dad's share any experiences with me (best memories?)

I love going to WDW with my husband and two children; however, one of my favorite trips was when just my son and I went. It was Jan of '05 and he was 3. We had a geat time. It was all about what he wanted to see and do. I enjoyed just spending time talking and focusing on him. I hope you and your daughter have a magical time!

My daughter and I spent a solo day at the parks when she was 8 months old... I basically just walked and walked with her.. I loved watching her face as she discovered the world of Disney for the first time.

I'm taking her back next month and it'll just be the two of us again... Now she's 15 months and walking so it'll be a new experience all over again. But I'm very excited about it. :)

I was raised by a single mom. We went to Disney when I was about 9 or 10 and it was the first trip for both of us. We had a great time and have a lot of great memories. Take a lot of pictures and enjoy the time together away from everything else. Enjoy your trip!

i have taken my daughter who is now eight the last four years. the hardest thing to do is bathroom breaks. being away from home she can be afraid to go into the restroom by herself. make sure you can find restroom that are for family restroom to make her feel comfortable about being away from home in a strange place. make sure you take her to see the princess my daughter is into them alot. get to toon town when they first open to have the princess walk them into the tent. the past two year. we get there when they open toon town and they walk them into the tent. that really makes her day. also try to go to chacter meals and let her have one on one time with the chacaters. plus you can enjoy having a nice meal at the same time. good luck on your trip

I'm a single mom with 2 daughters (9 and 11); we've gone for week long trips once a year for the last 4 years.

The first year I kinda did commando park touring because I wanted to experience it all and so did the girls.

Our other trips we've just kinda gone with the flow, usually deciding the evening before what park we'll go to the next day. I let the girls decide where we eat and make 1 table service reservation per day, either breakfast or dinner so we can be free to do want we want all day, we just eat counter service or snacks for any other time we're hungry.

On our upcoming :xmas: trip we've planned for one day to be a tourist day - we'll hit resorts and parks collecting pressed pennies, and charms for bracelets, and take lots of fun "tourist trap" pictures.

We've been known to go to a park and never ride a ride, just walk around and look at everything. It's so fun and exciting when we find something that we had not noticed on our previous trips.

Before my mother remarried, we went to DL and WDW several times by ourselves. We had a great time!

The only issue, was my mom having one scaredy cat daughter (:lookaroun :o ) and one very adventurous daughter. She couldnt let my sister (who is younger) ride all by herself, and she didnt want to leave me alone waiting for them (we were pretty young). It was a bit of a problem.

However, I dont think you'll have that problem, seeing that it's only the two of you.

Have fun! I know she'll remember these moments at WDW with Daddy

I spent a lot taking my ex along for our first four trips, so DS would experience Disney as a "family".

Last trip just he and I went and we had a great time! I let him set the pace and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole time in the World. You'll love it.

DS and I are planning four trips Feb '07 thru Feb '08 on APs...
