Had the e-mail from Universal this morning. A Spring opening next year, good to see attractions being built in a sensible amount of time, rather than 4 years.
Like the Simpsons but not sure the ride idea works, couldnt give a fig about Barry Spotter, dislike him almost as much as Tolkeins Hobittzzzzzzz.
The Simpsons is somewhat of a retrofit, so that cuts down the timetable significantly. When you cited 4 years, I'm guessing you were talking about Everest (but possibly ROTM? I'm not sure on the time frame of that one).
As for Potter, I too am not a huge fan, but I think Universal realizes that with the Potter Franchise, they need to make one ride that just blows people away, that's where the Kuka Arm comes in, and regardless of your passion for Potter, the ride should still be impressive. I was never a huge Spiderman fan, and I doubt everyone that rides The Adventures of Spiderman are hardcore Spidey fans either, but the ride itself is truly impressive. If they can do that with a Potter theme, than they'll be fine.
