Had the e-mail from Universal this morning. A Spring opening next year, good to see attractions being built in a sensible amount of time, rather than 4 years.

Like the Simpsons but not sure the ride idea works, couldnt give a fig about Barry Spotter, dislike him almost as much as Tolkeins Hobittzzzzzzz.

The Simpsons is somewhat of a retrofit, so that cuts down the timetable significantly. When you cited 4 years, I'm guessing you were talking about Everest (but possibly ROTM? I'm not sure on the time frame of that one).

As for Potter, I too am not a huge fan, but I think Universal realizes that with the Potter Franchise, they need to make one ride that just blows people away, that's where the Kuka Arm comes in, and regardless of your passion for Potter, the ride should still be impressive. I was never a huge Spiderman fan, and I doubt everyone that rides The Adventures of Spiderman are hardcore Spidey fans either, but the ride itself is truly impressive. If they can do that with a Potter theme, than they'll be fine.

I wonder if the small plot of land beside IOA and Royal Pacific could be used as the small Harry Potter park... I mean, yes, making Lost Continent into Potter Island is a possibility, but a lot of articles talk about a small theme park. Maybe that plot of land could be used?

Just dreaming...

From everything I've heard that plot of land will probably be used in the future for Wet n Wild to move on site since they're lease is getting very expensive at they're current location!!

Not to temper the excitement, but I don't know if this has been posted yet (from Theme Park Insider):

News I received from an attendee at the "Behind Closed Doors" at the Orlando Tourist Board Meeting, held at the Orange County Convention Center, on Tuesday, April 24th.:

Aparrently, Universal Studios have admitted that the New Simpsons Ride will be a very cheap re-fit of the Back to the Future Ride, incorporating existing fittings, especially the cars.

The overhaul and relaunch of the ride is to be as cheap as possible due to NBC's Minimal Spend approach.

This would be similar to the Jimmy Neutron Ride, which replaced Hanna Barbera a few years back!

Could just be conjecture, but it sounds like there's at least some backing to it. Just wanted to share it with you guys.

News on the harry potter project seems to have dried up. I hope it goes ahead, providing its a totally new construction and not a theme change of the lost continent.

Simpsons sound like a great idea but I am going to miss BTTF, it was probably my favorite ride at Universal. but oh well the times are a changing
