I know these r a great invention but what if they unbuckled it and u thought they were bhind u, then u may never know when they got out. I also know it can b scary losin a kid, but as long as ur attentive (my mom was) have more than 1 set of eyes on them, allow them 2 stick close, and teach them not 2 run, they wont get lost. I donno personally i'm against human leashes, i'm not saying that some aren't attentive parents (because im positive that most of u all r), just i'm more in favor of the shirt thing, or give ur kid a walkie talkie in a back pack or a pouch thing n make it like a game if u cant find them u call them, n they call back or something...... :: hides from parents who start boo-ing n throwing stuff :: :lookaroun

No booing or hissing here just a little insight. You are very young and have not had the privilage of taking your kids to WDW. Even at its quietist its very crowded to a small child. It is very easy to lose them in a crowd of adults. (even the most well behaved child gets excited). I'm sure if you ask your parents they would have a few stories to tell you. Even with 6 sets of eyes on them kids slip away. Thats just how they are. I grew up in the 50's/60's when harness & leash was standard practice for kids. Tee shirts are fine, but everyone else has them too. Walkie Talkies are useless in WDW when everyone has them...the channels are too crowded & teenagers (don't yell, cause I've seen them do it) prank answer to have some fun. Little kids can't have cell phones.
Please walk a mile in my shoes before you tell me I'm wrong.

I'm still young and don't have kids either...but I am the oldest of 8 children. I am not against the leashes either, at least in WDW. When my family came down to visit me last fall and we all visited the Magic Kingdom, it made our lives a whole lot easier. Its not like we're putting a muzzle on them or punishing them, its simply a way to help keep track of them. And most of the time we didn't even hold the other end of the "leashes," as long as they stuck by and held hands or whatnot-- but when kids get excited it is natural for them to run off in a millions directions.
I agree that Disney World is the safest place for kids, we have an excellent system for returning lost kids. It is sad to see parents freak out, and I can understand how nerve wrecking it can be to lose a small child in a crowd of 40,000 people, but CMs are well trained to handle the situation, and in the dozens of lost children I dealt with, all the families were reunited shortly.

I was planning on wearing the neon boxers for my trip in November but I have not been able to talk my wife and daughters into it. Didn't realize they make a neon brown in a boxer:lookaroun
