Supposing Iger were to retire any time soon, do you guys (or anyone) think his obvious replacement Staggs would be any improvement?
I think he would be since he was put second in commanf and I think that he would be a bit better. While his personality may not appealing and not every decision that is being made in the parks is a good one, Staggs cared about the parks while he was in charge of them. He's the reason why Seven Dwarfs Mine Train got back in the plans. Sure, they could've built the meet and greets and made a ton of money, but Staggs knew that the Mine Train was the right thing to build. Again, I don't think that he'd be perfect, but he has shown that he definitely cares more about the company's work from a creative stand point than Iger ever has or ever will.

Nah, I genuinely think it's a coincidence. How could Bob cause the Imagineers to build slower?

Also, since you brought it up, I also despise the Minions. How that movie made so much money I have no idea.
Well he can't necessarily make them build slower, I think that its a little more than a coincidence that the imagineers start building slower under a new regime. Anyways, down with Minions and off with their heads.

He's been both good and bad in my opinion. There's been a lot of development in the parks though. I just think that while the great has been great, the bad (most of it in the future) looks really bad.

If the whole worlds shouts 'we can't make a difference' then nothing is ever achieved.

If you want to see Iger in all his glory ... front seat at the Oscars just now. That's where he belongs - in the movie arena. That's his true love, and that's his passion. It's where he wants to belong. Not 'rides that go up and down and fast and spinny' - that's how he see's the parks.

Yes, but are movies his true passion or is it the money that they make? Yes he's worked in TV but let's be honest, I'm sure he sees his job franchising, merchandising, and most of all branding. while he's smart enough not to interfere with most productions, you can tell by Disney Live Action's focus on remakes that he thinks about selling movies more often then just making the right one.

Know him personally, do you Jordan Nite?

Can I just bring up this video?

It pretty much paints Disney as what Ronnie-boy here is female-dog-ing about regarding Iger...and for that matter, what everyone was female-dog-ing about regarding Eisner. Ronnie, have you forgotten that Michael Eisner is the reason why people like you believe Disney is an IP-obsessed, money-hungry company?

They're both at fault. Eisner paved the way While Iger drove it into the ground so hard that I'm surprised they haven't broken any monopoly/anti-trust laws.

Iger has no background in the film industry, he was a weatherman and then spent the rest of his pre-Disney career in network television at ABC. What has he ever done to give you the impression that his "true love" and "passion" is film and that that is where he wants to belong?

I give him credit for the Pixar and Star Wars deals. That's about it.

Is he the worst CEO in the world? No. Is he the type of CEO that I believe a company like Disney needs? No.

And also, there's a reason why construction is taking so long. Disney wants to make quality attractions to get people, well, attracted to them. And with Star Wars and Avatar, they're clearly trying to play catch-up with Harry Potter at Universal. So, naturally, that means they want to make sure everything is perfect. And you know what they say: "You can't rush perfection".

Yeah, because Uncle Bob reads this forum every morning when he gets up to gauge how he's going to run TWDC that day. "Miss Hathaway, there's some fool on WDWMagic circulating a petition for the BOD to fire me. Find out if he owns any shares. Oh, not even one? He's just another one of those fanboys - I'm not worried. Oh, call Kathleen and find out what the total gross is now for Force Awakens. Thanks."

I agree with you. If he didn't buy and restore the relationship with Pixar, most of whatever respect I've had for him would be either neutral or non-existent.

True, but Universal is able to build quality attractions MUCH faster.

So let me clarify .... a few of you are happy there has been no investment in the parks, no new attractions, raising of ticket prices, experience reduced by laying of cast members?

Good grief.
I have not seen anyone say they are happy with any of these things. Show us one post where anyone said they were happy with them. Can you? Can you also accept that there has been large investments but just not on the things that YOU want including several new attractions. No one is happy with raised prices or lay offs or cuts.

Let's get real Jordan or Jas Singh, you just enjoy trolling.
