Whether you can get the 3-d movie or not, I wouldn't think it could even compare to the one at USF. THe best part is your chair moving, you won't get that at home.

A few adult beverages can take care of that minor problem. :D

Well, considering Dreamworks came up with the whole Shrek thing in the first place (ie: the first movie and the sequel that comes out next weekend), it would only make sense that they did the 3D movie animation as well.

I'm just sayin...

I just meant instead of creating something from their own movie catalog, they went to an outside source for the concept and idea for an attraction. I have my doubts that Universal Creative had a lot or any say in the storyline for the actual show....and the fact that they obviously have no hold over that creative aspect can be seen in that Dreamworks seems to be able to do whatever they wanted with it....including providing everyone the option to own a "cheap clone" of the attraction. Shrek 4D just isn't unique anymore to the theme parks....and that's a shame.

Just in case there's still any doubt, it's being sold down here as Shrek 1.5. It's a double-DVD pack. The first disc is exactly the same as the regular Shrek DVD, ans the second has trailers for Shrek 2 and 2 versions of Shrek 4D, one 3D and one 2D. Obviously, they're not doing this for the effects. THey're doing it because the story plays between the 2 movies, and not everybody will have the time to experience the attraction before watching the sequel in theaters. So they both give you the ability to see it at home and also make you ansious to visit the park to fully experience the attraction.

All in all, a VERY wise move on Universal's part, in my opinion. They should have done the same for T2:3D (add it to the T3 DVD). And furthermore, both Universal and Disney should have already considered releasing past attractions on DVD, stuff that we no longer can see at the parks, like the Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera or Horizons (both of which I have it here on my computer on .avi format).
