Shrek 4D Layout?

Can someone explain to me the layout of Shrek 4D? I thought that I knew how it was set up, but once I realized that they didn't even touch the Psycho theater, I figured that I was wrong. I thought that they had you go into the same preshow room as Hitchcock, then into the theater, (which was one large theater, since they tore out the psycho theater), and then had you head into what was once the post show area, or the gift shop now. How does it really work????? If they didn't take out the psycho theater, how do you get to the post show area? And what did they do with the second floor?

It's pretty much the same set up as Hitchcock, just with the Psycho theatre cut out. You go into the preshow area, then the theatre used for the Birds (it's a small theatre for a 3D theatre, that's why the waits are so long). You exit in the backside of the theatre into the old store area. If you look in the store you can see a little bit of the Vertigo stairs still there.

You know, if it is so small (and I really don’t remember that well since the movie was rather short and it had been a while since I’d been in there) it seems like they could have made use of both theaters in some way to keep things constantly moving by having one end half way through the performance in the other. I mean sheesh, if my local 20 theater mega-plex can do it in three or four stadium size theaters, Universal should be able to do it in two small ones - especially since we all know they already have the room.

Any word out there on what the actual running time is on the movie?.. I can’t help but think that they would have had a clue about the whole theatre size/wait time thing before they converted it over.

A good guesstimate would be 500+ person theater and a running time of 8-10 minutes for the actual show. Plus you have the pre-show which runs probably longer depending on how long it takes to filter in enough bodies for the main show. I think capacity is somewhere around 1500-2000 people per hour.

Of course I really don't know, I'm just giving you what I think is pretty acurate figures.

I've heard the thatre holds between 300 and 400 people. What they should have done is take the interactive area and the Psycho theatre and built the theatre in there. If you built just between the current and Pyscho theatre, it would be too wide for everyone to get a good view of the screen.

Do they have any interactive areas that turn you into an ogre or anything like that (kinda like at ImageWorks)? I mean, if they had an area like that (with little interactive kiosks dealing with the mockery of "Fairy Tales" and the "Grossness" of being an ogre...I think it could definitely "keep people busy" (think along the lines of ImageWorks and even the Hitchcock area where you could see the props used and you could be "filmed"...and maybe something like the voice-over work at Sounds Dangerous)
