Should we have an Official 'Halloween Horror Nights 25' thread

going for the first time on October 14th I have express pass will I be able to get everything done that night r should we do 2 nights

Should be fine seeing everything with express, but going to be rushed. Might want a second night to take in the atmosphere, see your favorite houses a second or third time (you always catch new details, scares you missed the first time due to timing).

Anyone heard any news on the two shows this year yet? Obviously we'll have Bill & Ted but any ideas on the other one, with only about 5 weeks till opening I'd guess rehearsals will have commenced already?

No I think they're definitely slower at releasing stuff than last year though I admit last year was the first year I got interested in HHN, so not sure of the pace of releasing stuff before that.

They're definitely falling behind on their "ideal" schedule for announcements, as it relates to the intellectual properties being used, but nothing is actually late until it's September. The very end of August/very beginning of September is their traditional deadline for announcing everything.

Word is there may have been a problem with the owners of the rights to Scream, which was more than likely going to be the next house announced. Bad news is it's out; good news is it sounded like the weakest of the bunch anyway.

Any news as to what's replacing it? Another IP, or a 'home grown' variety house?

If this is true, and it's a recent development, that would be bad news in and of itself. The only thing they could possibly hope to replace it with, this late in the game, is an original concept that was previously developed but unused. It's too late to design anything from scratch, unless it's going to be a complete throwaway (anyone remember Cold Blind Terror? You were trying not to? Whoops.)

I don't know anything for sure, but I've heard whispers. Scream is out.

In its place... well, don't expect another original, shoehorned or otherwise. Prepare to be disappointed, as marketing has apparently "saved the day" with a replacement IP.

I know folks are saying that Saturday nights are crowded, but last year, we went the four nights of the second week and we felt that Saturday night was the most pleasant of the four (generally due to the crowd size). It did start off crowded as there was a pass holder event that night, but it seemed to get less crowded as the night went on.

I recall thinking that maybe folks who would go on a Saturday were not ready for a Halloween event in Sept, most locals probably get a pass that does not include Satyrdays, and single day event tickets tend to cost more on a Saturday.

I imagine it could have been that we were in no rush any of the nights since we were going for four nights or maybe we were in a better mode, more relaxed, knew our way around better. I dunno, but it really felt to us that the Saturday night had less people from around 9 PM on compared to the other nights.

We did the very first Saturday last year using our frequent fear pass (the only Saturday it allowed) and it wasn't too bad at all.

Sounds like efficient crowd control to me.
