Should they even bother showing the daytime parade at the Magic Kingdom?

Absolutely....whether you watch it or not, it serves a purpose -- it manages the traffic flow of strollers from Fantasyland to Main Street to exit and was designed that way on purpose...

It will absolutely stay. It's not about the parade. It's about how Disney does crowd management and how it increases income in the shops on Main Street during the running-of-the-strollers....

And it's the PERFECT time to ride the rides, as long as you make sure you are on the correct side of the parade route. :)

The last few times I came across the daytime parade at the Magic Kingdom I noticed that it was short and the crowds were low. I just cant sit thru a disney daytime parade. I hated it when I was five and at the time my sister who was 3 wasn't even interested. Although I do or did want to see that Toy Story parade but I haven't got the chance to visit MGM Studios in 2-3 years :(. Of course thats my opinion and my observation, the Magic Kingdom daytime parade could be the most popular show in the whole resort.

Does someone find you in the park and glue you to the curbside to watch these parades??? I am sure you could find something else to occupy your time in the park. :D

I am liking the short line idea. We never go on any rides during the day, we take that time to visit the slow moving rides and things that have no line. We visit the Haunted Mansion during the parade. Then during the second light Parade we ride Splash Mountain until we get to cold LOL. Thunder Mountain can also be deserted at that time.

While you all are watching the parade, I'm taking advantage of short wait times at eateries & attractions.

keep it...plus you have to give the toddlers who ________ out around 2:00 p.m. a parade before they crash out for the afternoon.

As someone said before, it is all about crowd management. For folks who like a parade it's there to see and it will pull people away from lines. Also for folks with little ones, who won't be able to make it at the park till dark it really helps them out. I think these parades are what make Disney unique to other places.

Although the short lines are great, especially if you arrant a fan of watching painted fiberglass on wheels I will sacrifice some yeti observation time to watch the Jammin Jungle Parade :). That to me is a parade worth seeing. If there is anything I hate the most about the daytime parades at the Magic Kingdom its going to be the repetitive music and the cheesy fiberglass floats. I remember the Princess and Pirates floats. Those were pretty neat floats. The music also changed thru out the show. I wish they could use that as the daytime parade. I miss that parade allot.

You bring up fiberglass twice, so I'm gonna guess that fiberglass is the basis of your dislike of the floats.

What would you prefer that the floats be made of? Chicken wire and tissue paper ala high school homecoming? Flower petals ala Rose parade? Paper Mache would look really good after the inevitable afternoon rain storm.

Plaster of Paris.....

I wonder how many people would complain should the afternoon parade be removed? Then we would move into a whole another realm of pi$$ing and moaning......

Parades aren't everyone's thing. The only parade I can think of that plays essentially the same loop over and over is Main Street Electrical Parade. The daytime parade always has unique song melodies ("verses") attached to each individual float - then they all come back together for the "chorus". So it kinda plays like your average song.

I dunno what to say about the floats. They are what they are...
