So in 2010, Disney World decided to try out a new seasonal event, for summer.
IMO, I think it was a brilliant idea, but wasn't really executed perfectly.
1st, the return of the MSEP was great (and got me the ability to finally, and still see, this magical parade)
and 2nd, the Summer Nightastic Fireworks was one of Magic Kingdoms best shows (I really miss it, and wouldn't mind it running as Magic, Music, Mayhem for summer months at all)
I felt it was executed alright in Magic Kingdom, Could of had a few extra evening entertainment (Like a 6:30pm, 7:30pm ,and even later performances, of Dream Along with Mickey), and could of had the hours like they had for summer 2011 (more 12am - 1am regular closings)
In Epcot, DHS, and AK I felt it wasn't even executed to its full potential.
In Epcot, the only thing they had there related to Summer Nightastic was the summer concert (which wasn't even "new" to Epcot), They could of extended the hours like years past and stayed open until 10pm or 11pm.
In Disney's Hollywood Studios, Glow Party was ok, not the best, but I was cool with it. But the "reimagined" tower of terror was shameful, I'll admit, the lights blacking out in the basement was a nice touch, but the 5th dimension was pityful, It screamed cheap (except for the little picture of your elevator dissapearing, that was a nice effect)
In Animal Kingdom, all they did was just stay open until 8pm (which they normally do during summer), nothing was added to entice you to wanna stay late.
I feel if they wanna try this again in 2012, they should add more hours to all 4parks (like 12am closing for studios, 9pm for Animal Kingdom), and if they feel its time, they could start testing out nighttime entertainment for Animal Kingdom).
