Should McDonalds return to Disneyland?

No matter how many times I see photos of early DCA I’m always shocked at just how bad it was.
Was?

ETA: Here is the description from Disney's website: "Discover the crown jewel of the midway's culinary offerings at this eye-catching, walk-up stall."

Oh, it's eye-catching all right. Crown jewel? You mean like a cabochon???

Was it this? I did a Google search and this is all I could find but I don’t remember it being called Don Tomas. Infinitely better than the chicken box though (which is bad but still better than a huge burger spaceship).

Poultry Palace was a new build on what was a look-out spot on the Pier (gotta monetize every square inch of the park!), this stall was replaced by the cleverly named Angry Dogs.

Looks like you beat me to it! This description though "crown jewel". Theres no way the person writing this is even in the same state this was made.

I'm not sure why everybody's tip-toeing around the obvious.

There should be an IN-N-OUT attraction/restaurant in DCA.

You begin by climbing into a stylish convertible. Trackless? Wire guided? Busbar? Worlds Fair WedWay - probably not? For full immersion, you could then wait an insufferable amount of time, but that might be skipped (upcharge?) and you proceed straight to the menu board, where your order is taken. Then, due to the stop and go nature of a drive-thru, you pause at a series of windows. LOOK! - no freezers. SEE! how potatoes are sliced. WATCH! as burgers are flipped. GAZE! upon the beauty of a shake being made. Then you pay (using any number of convenient means) and collect your delicious food. Your car then finds an empty space at the adjacent drive-in theater where you enjoy watching clips and trailers that run on a 30 minute loop. When finished, press the "horn" button on your otherwise useless steering wheel, and your car takes you to unload, where it is then wiped down and readied for the next hungry and curious group of guests.

This should of course all take place in some sort of well-hidden warehouse. If done properly, they could ensure a sunset while ordering, dusk until food pickup, then a pleasant twilight for the dining / viewing experience. This would also likely be at least a two lane, perhaps four lane experience, until distribution to the "theater". They would also need some accessible vehicles, as well as "stretch" options for larger families.

If they REALLY want to theme the cars, additional sponsorship opportunities are available.

This stuff practically writes itself...

I've told my girlfriend so many times how much I miss the McDonalds French Fry Wagon in Frontierland. I didn't care about Burger Invasion, if I wanted a full McDonalds meal I would leave the parks and pay significantly less or I would just eat something better within the parks. But being able to go up to a counter that only serves McDonalds' heavenly french fries at such a quick pace and then eating them while I wait in line for BTMRR was one of my favorite memories as a kid. I doubt it will ever come back, but I wish at the very least they would put back the wagon cart and just make their own french fries and nothing else and have a super quick and easy snack of fries to grab and enjoy.

Side note, as others have said, I forgot how Burger Invasion looked and man, my rose tinted glasses made it seem much better than it was. I was pretty young when it was still in the parks when I visited (I was probably around 7 or 8) and I could have sworn the big burger facade was a full 360 burger and not just a flat one that looked like a normal sign from off angles.

Burger Invasion may have been tacky, but it had a soul that will never be replicated. View attachment 672043
I think it fits a certain tacky from that specific time era that almost feels nostalgic since over the last 20ish years every company has killed any character they have to go for a "sleek, corporate aesthetic" just like your earlier posts. I had a Taco Bell in my town that was golf themed from some time around the 90s to very very early 2000's if I remember correctly and it had so much charm, then they closed it to remodel and now it looks exactly like every other fast food restaurant. My friends and I used to love to go there late at night during high school / my first year of community college when we were hanging out because the interior was fun and inviting. After they remodeled it we stopped going in there because the new layout sucked and it just felt boring and depressing in an all grey building with black and grey and white everything.

Also, I think people suggesting In-N-Out to go with the California theme are geniuses, but I don't have much faith in Disney doing partnerships anymore unless it's with another brand so gigantic they are okay with Disney being greedy because they'll make enough to still turn a profit from it all. I feel like In-N-Out especially is perfect because the menu is just burgers and fries, no other options they'd have to remove. Maybe take away the animal style option (don't attack me please) to cut down on complexity of orders so it can move through customers quickly. You can get a single or double burger / cheeseburger, fries, and a drink (they could include the In-N-Out lemonade) and leave it at that. Quick, simple, and Disney can charge people as much as they want because it would be a better burger than basically any other quick service option in the park.
