Yeah, but y'see, in Frozen's case, Disney didn't have to buy an entire company and franchise in order to make movies about it. In terms of costs vs. profit, I wonder if Frozen is indeed more profitable...
It's not.

Still does. You know what franchise used to sell ALOT of merch? Before their new owners ruined it with bad stories/characters
Favreau and FiloniStill does.
2013 and 2014 would be the only two times this would have been possible.Yeah, but y'see, in Frozen's case, Disney didn't have to buy an entire company and franchise in order to make movies about it. In terms of costs vs. profit, I wonder if Frozen is indeed more profitable...
Black Series stuff sold well through everything. Regardless. Its just that the 'young' buyers are not there like they were for the other trilogies. Its mostly older collectors now.Favreau and Filoni
Yes, I don't want to be judgmental and I don't really care what obsessions people have, but that is one that I do not understand after the age of 16 tops.I'm not older than dirt, but I outgrew superpowered Spandex when I hit puberty.
I mean, you get that's the minority opinion right? Endgame was the highest grossing film of all time, which included a lot of people over the age of 16.Yes, I don't want to be judgmental and I don't really care what obsessions people have, but that is one that I do not understand after the age of 16 tops.
So if you want to profit…you would target the largest generation with the most amount of money, no?Black Series stuff sold well through everything. Regardless. Its just that the 'young' buyers are not there like they were for the other trilogies. Its mostly older collectors now.
toys and kids arent the same as they used to be. Most kids would rather have digital, most toys are bought by adults. Even barbie and hot wheels arent what they were. You know what franchise used to sell ALOT of merch? Before their new owners ruined it with bad stories/characters
I’m aware…action figures are dead. Yet more “product” is sold to more people now than ever.toys and kids arent the same as they used to be. Most kids would rather have digital, most toys are bought by adults. Even barbie and hot wheels arent what they were.
It could be, but I'm not sure it's the majority. It is just that the majority of those fans actually get out and go to the movies and since they grew up playing video games they are drawn to it like a moth to a flame. That genre, like all others will be downgraded as soon as the majority of those that went to the movies, start careers, get married, have children and the like. Nothing ever stays the same.I mean, you get that's the minority opinion right? Endgame was the highest grossing film of all time, which included a lot of people over the age of 16.
Only one franchise (other than Disney properties) maintained the appeal through those stages…which is why it was/is unique. It could be, but I'm not sure it's the majority. I thought Avatar took that title back?????I mean, you get that's the minority opinion right? Endgame was the highest grossing film of all time, which included a lot of people over the age of 16.
It’s all adjusted gross/tickets sold that matter anyway.I thought Avatar took that title back?????
I don't think playing video games has much to do with superhero movies. I can't think of a single big-deal Marvel video game ever. Even amongst super heroes in general, the Batman Arkham games were good but by no means that cause of people becoming enamored with super heroes. It could be, but I'm not sure it's the majority. From what I read those are numbers for all movies, not necessarily Marvel or the like. so it really means nothing. My guess is that the majority of Marvel fans would be in the 2 to 24 age which would also be things other then Marvel. I don't have a problem with Marvel type genre, but I think that the real draw starts to decrease as one matures. (ages)I don't think playing video games has much to do with superhero movies. The Marvel movies (for the most part) are wildly successful (I think) because they're just plain good. The best ones have great characters, great storylines, and great action AND they're funny. And they are by no means "kiddie movies." Many have complicated themes, and there are certainly a few that I would not let my kid see.
I have no idea how long the superhero wave will last or if it's just part of the ongoing cycle of movie types at this point. But I'm on the line between gen X and millennial, and most of the Gen Xers and older Millennials that I know are watching the Marvel movies. These are people in their 30s and 40s. Also, this data is from 2018, but it's not just teens going to movies.

Who Goes to the Movies?
Ever wondered who's actually going to see movies at the theater? Don't worry we're unpacking it all by the numbers...www.movieguide.org
For the record though, I still think MCU as a whole theme park is not a great idea.
What 3 part mess are you talking about? It’s all adjusted gross/tickets sold that matter anyway.
people paraded around some box office numbers from a 3 part mess of a movie for five years here…then when you plug into adjusted - it looks like a failure. Cause it was
Maybe the worst effort in modern Hollywood history…What 3 part mess are you talking about?
