Should I stay at the Comfort Inn LBV

My daughter and her high school choir are driving down to WDW (20 hours) and staying at the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista. I am flying down and will be there early then them, and stay a day longer. Should I stay at this hotel, or should I stay on property like I always do? I am not chaperoning, but want to see my daughter sing at Epcot, and some of my time will be on my own. But I feel like I should stay at her hotel as I would probably get to be with her more, but we do have cell phones and can hook up at the parks.

Or I could stay at their hotel, and when they leave, move over for one night at disney.

Bottom line: Comfort Inn or POP Century, and if anyone has stayed at COmfort Inn, what is it like?

When we went just last month; my girlfriends's son was at the Comfort Inn LBV with his school and we stayed at Pop Century. He said he didn't care for the place. However, we loved Pop Century. I'd try Pop Century as I wasn't impressed with Comfort Inn LBV when I stayed there in 1988.

I stayed there a couple of years ago. It's a generic chain hotel, clean with a free continental buffet, or inexpensive regular buffet and is but a few hundred yards from the entrance to the Disney Property. I payed less than half what I would if I stayed at the cheapest Disney property, even with Annual Pass discount.

It all depends on where you want to use your money. I use mine in the parks rather than my hotel room.

If I was you, I would stay on site as you normaly would. She will be fine, and if you stayed there some of the kids(you know how they can be) might say you were there to keep an eye on her, even though that would not be the case.
Remember, you can hook up at the park as you had mentioned.:animwink:

I aked her and she said she did not care. I also asked that if we hooked up at the park, would she want to drive back to the hotel with me if I stayed at her hotel. She said no, she would want to be with her class. So there is my answer. I will stay at POP. Pop is $74 if I can still get the AP discount, and COmfort inn is $71 (altho I found a site for $59). I think I will feel safer being alone, at POP as I will be there before them, and staying after. ALso, I heard that the Comfort Inn can be noisey as it is right near I-4. Really the only time I would see her at the hotel would be breakfast. Then she rides to the parks on the bus, and I go in my car. At night when we get back, she will hang with her friends.

The funny thing is, she is the one who wanted me to go. I think she wants me there to see her sing at Disney and go on the rides with her, since her buddy/school partner doesn't like coasters. That is cool. We can be together as much as she wants, and keep in contact by cell phone. I am not shy and I talk a lot to everyone, so I am looking forward to a soloish trip. I can try out new restaurants as my daughter is sooooo picky regarding food.

Thanks for the info.

We've stayed at the Comfort Inn LBV 3x. It is a generic chain, as someone stated, but is clean w/friendly staff. Very close to one of the main gates. We're staying at All-Star Movies this time because we're driving (got a decent price on the package). It's all about where you want to spend your $$$...on a room you won't be in much, or in the parks...Have fun!!!
