Should I go to AK on EHM morning if Crowd Level is 9? This is for June 17.

EP and HS are expected crowd level 7 on that day....I know AK has EMH in the morning, but it is listed as an expected crowd level 9.

Should we take advantage of the EMH at AK that day or switch to another park that is a level 7?
I can also do AK on another day at level 7, but no EMH.

Thanks!

Do you have a park hopper? If you can leave by 11 am or so, go with DAK.

We usually hit EMH mornings simply because you can get on the big rides early. It also lets us finish a park by lunch time for an afternoon break. We either go back to the park if it is open late enough or enjoy other things WDW has to offer. With hoppers, we could go to another park for the later hours, fireworks, and parades.

Animal kingdom has a lot to see and do that doenst require waiting on line. If you get there and make it on the couple of rides you really want to see (for us it was a bugs life and the safari), you'll do well. We know we don't like yeti and the kids were pretty scared of dinosaur so no reason to do those again. The trails and exhibits have no lines.

Our recent trip we did AK on an EMH morning and didn't even make if for EMH. We stayed until maybe noon and really enjoyed ak much more than we ever have before. There was no rushing. Then we went back to the pool and swam, had lunch, and hopped to MK for evening stuff and fireworks.

If you go early you can get on the Safari before it get's crazy. Animals are more active too! I personally go to parks on the EMH mornings or nights. If you know how to manage your day the crowds are not too bad. Why not take advantage of more time in the parks if you stay on property.

With a park hopper definitely yes. Far fewer people are willing to wake up early for morning EMHs so we always find that we get more done in that first hour (if you are truly there before opening) than the rest of the day. I'd go and take advantage of that less crowded time, then hop to another park midday when you will likely be done with all major attractions at AK.

I recommend a hopper if you know your way around and know what you like to do/avoid. We always do morning EMH at AK if we can- if you like EE like we do you can ride it at least 3 times before the line starts to build. Not frequent visitors to the safari but I know that would also be a great place to start.

I've personally gone to AK EMH on a level 8 day and really enjoyed myself. I also didn't feel like the crowds were the projected 8...felt more like a 4. I stayed at AK until about 11 am and then headed over to Epcot for the afternoon before jumping to MK that night. I guess I've just never been one to freak out and avoid a park because of crowd projections. It's more of a planning consideration- i.e. I may need a more solid touring plan for that park if the projection is correct...which I've found it's often not :)

EDIT- while evening EMH is usually more useful than morning, it's still an added perk of staying onsite and can extend your day and give you more things to do for the $. They always recommend avoiding the parks with EMH, but you've paid for that perk and I've never regretted going for the EMH park vs. wasting the perk.
