Good Morning All. Excuse the song title thread but for all you folks who have been to Disney so many times that you have found your ideal resort. But after staying at it on every visit, have you ever decided to try a different resort, then after a few days, you wished you had stayed at your old favourite. We have stayed at CBR (1) POFQ (1) and PORS (3) but always considered CSR but yet to try incase we think we wished we had stayed at Riverside. What are your thoughts on this.?;)

Do a split stay a week at each if you love the new one you have enough time to experience it and if it stinks your out soon enough to make you happy!

In many cases, I am fine at the resort I am at. We usually stay at POP because of the price and atmosphere. I can visit a resort if I want to experience. The only thing I cannot experience is sleeping in it and the pool. Not a big deal. I have definitely found resorts I cannot stand to even be in.

Interesting answers. The only thing about one week in one resort, then packing for another is how the dining plan would work? Also what puts me off CSR is it gets used for conventions, knowing my luck I'd book it during a Rio Carnival week. And I believe there's only one basin/mirror in your room, plus does not the food court have some unusual thing which for the life of me,I can't remember at this moment.I was thinking of a deluxe on our next trip, but the difference between 14 nights at PORS and 14 nights at WL,is approx $3500, Thats a lot of spending money.Even doing a week at Riverside, then a week at WL,it's an extra $2000. The position of the resort is great, and the balcony is awesome, but I asked myself, when am I going to be sitting out on it.? Certainly not first thing in the morning. Its alarm/shower/parks.Last thing at night maybe, with a cool beer.Anyway,Thats just my thoughts.

We stayed at Grand Floridian for my son's 18th bday/graduation trip in 2007. We hated it. I tried to switch to the Poly, but there was no availability. This year, we are trying WL, and I really like the property much better at WL than GF. DS and I spent an afternoon there last October, really liked it!!! GF is just not for me (apologies to GF lovers)

Look at it this way...suppose your first trip was CBR and you liked it so much you only went there. In that case you would never even know what it is like staying at PORS...missing out on what has become your favorite place.
I say try new places...that is what we do...if you stay at CSR and don't like it, so freakin what, you are still at WDW.
Our first deluxe was BW and we loved it and thought we would only go back there...since that bit of limited thinking we have stayed at BC, SSR, WL, OKW and more, and you know what?...they were all good and each was a different experience.

We love the Boardwalk but are thinking of staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge next trip. Why? The food! Yes, it's all about the 3 great dining options they have here. I thought about spliting our time between the Boardwalk and Animal Kingdom Lodge, but, I almost feel I will be taking time out of our trip to move everything over.

GF was not our favorite...a bit to uppity for this ole country boy, but sure can't say we hated it...we just liked it less than some other places...still glad we tried it.

As stated many times..we love the Boardwalk..I would stay at Animal Kingdom and Wilderness Lodge as those two resorts have not had the pleasure of my company yet..its just hard to pull the trigger so to speak..I alrady have our Xmas 3013 booked...and while we are trying to get down Sept 13..Im not sure where we end up for just a couple day trip...may use the timeshare store and try that service out for a Villa

That is exactly it! I toy with the idea and just can seem to pull the plug!
What is this Timeshare store you speak of????

We left our comfortable home of CBR for a quick MVMCP trip and stayed at Pop. It has made me gunshy about considering another value. I think I would try other moderates and I know I could be right at home at WL. Getting the wife to go somewhere else may be a bit more challenging. Even if it's dysfunctional, the known, is always less scary than the unknown!

Oh my position remains the same at least for this year:) We well be staying at POFQ! I stick with what we know and what we are comfortable with. I am familiar with the staff in Sass, the gift shop, and both bars and I like that homey feeling! We have stayed at other places and I am afraid of being disappointed! Maybe someday...

My thoughts exactly!!!

It's all about being risk-averse. I find the hotel I love and had a great experience with (WL and PORS) and I worry that any other will be lacking. My last trip (which ended up being cancelled at the last minute) had me reserving with CSR first and then switching to PORS one week later. I just couldn't bring myself to stay outside of my comfort zone. I have looked at CSR and it looks beautiful but I just haven't been able to pull the trigger on it. One thing that may finally change my mind is Buzz's CSR site and comments and the fact that it has the lovely walking trail around the lake. We love walking and it would give us somewhere to walk without the crowds (beyond the parks).
