Should I experience Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day?

I'm doing it. I may live to regret it, but I have always dreamed of Christmas Day at Magic Kingdom. We're going with very low expectations of riding many rides. Our plan is to use our three fastpasses for the mountains, which we have at good times, see the parade, eat at Be Our Guest (found a lunch reservation), and enjoy the Dapper Dans. Anything extra is bonus.

I have a similar plan. We have three FastPasses and lunch reservations at Tony's. Anything beyond that is a bonus.

With that attitude and the expectation of crowds, I have no doubt that you'll have a great day. When we went to MK on Christmas Day, it was slammed. But we had a great time.

Some just have to stick their hands into the boiling water to determine that it's hot and it hurts to do so. Having personally experienced this several times, its not something I would encourage anyone else to do if they had other options. If you like experiencing the "Sea of Humanity" this is one of the days to do so, just try and avoid choke points like the walkway from Fantasyland and Liberty Square, any place near the parade route before or after such a scheduled event or even Mainstreet. Go to the furthest edges of the park and hide.

MK is USUALLY closed by about 10:30 AM on Christmas Day because they have reached capacity. I would avoid MK on Christmas Day AT ALL COSTS! It's nuts ... and nothing different happens than on any other day during the holidays. (At least not that I've noticed on the few times I HAVE been crazy enough to go there that day.) In fact, every time we go to WDW during Christmas week we always say we're never going to do it again. Guess where we're going this Christmas? Yep ... we are the definition of insane.

This is a bit exaggerated. Around 10:30-11:00 they might start phased closings. If you're staying on property you'll be fine unless the park closes completely to new visitors, and that has only happened one time, ever, in April in 2009

I know others wouldn't do it, but if this is a dream and you go in with a plan and manage your expectations with regard to crowds, you can have a great time. I would just plan on getting there super early and make sure all of your dining and fast passes are in order well before your trip. I've been to both WDW and DL Christmas week and having a plan and having things booked makes a huge difference.
