Should I cancel since there's no FP+, fireworks, limited dining, etc.? When will it return?

I have had to cancel 2 trips due to COVID (April 2020 canceled and August 2020 rescheduled b of travel ban)...……….We are currently rescheduled for April 2021 but we will not come if there are no FP+, limited dining, no fireworks, no shows, facemasks, etc...……….Its not worth all the money to travel and not have those options...………….Are there any educated guesses or opinions when WDW will be "back to normal"?

No, you're missing the point and seem to be getting very confused by a simple question......We WANT to go if its back to normal, but only if it is.....So I was asking if anyone knew if it would be by then...…..

Ask next April, everything is subject to change up to that point. Might be a rogue asteroid strike, China could buy Florida, NY could implode.

Are you planning on going the week of April 4? If so, then yes. That's Easter week. But it sounds like you're going to be miserable regardless without FP+ and "back to normal" whatever that is. So better just to cancel now.
I don't care if they dont bring back FP+.........I am just looking to have advanced reservations in some form......……..I am willing to pay for FP if it assures my family of the trip we are looking for...…..When you go as infrequently as we do, I just want to know in advance we can do what we want and we just build it into the overall expense of going...……...Once you are spending as much as we do (2 adults 4 children in hotel for 7 days with park tickets, food, flights, extras, misc) then spending a little bit more to get FP is a drop in the bucket to know my plans are in place as opposed to going and not getting on our preferred rides

What is ALL the criteria you are using to define 'normal'? With that information we can give more pointed guesses - but thats all anyone will have is a guess. Everyone here could be 100% wrong.
FP, fireworks, shows, all restaurants open, etc......

My own personal opinion is that Disney has you too conditioned on FP+. Plenty of people have already gotten on all the attractions, some more than once since parks are limited capacity right now. But that's your call. Look. I hate the term "new normal". But right now we are under "current normal" with masks, park reservations, etc. Just consider whether you would have an enjoyable trip being under the same conditions as everyone else. Again, it's what you put into the trip. You can have an enjoyable trip for a full family. Don't believe me? Go to the trip reports section and read some of the reports, including one from @fractal about his entire family's trip. If that isn't doable for you, then don't go.

I think you're right and will likely cancel and wait for another time with more certainty......…Could do trip to Universal and stay there to guarantee all the attractions with the Express pass and skip Disney for a few more years..........Not ideal for me or disney but i like the certainty of Universal

Less time in lines is def better than more so if you call that "conditioned", then yes im conditioned and I don't know anyone who wouldn't take a FP to any ride vs not taking one

Its simply mathematics. If parks are even at 50% capacity and not full, the time you spent in lines without FP would be less than a 'standard' park day where you can use FP's. You need to do the total math, not just the time saved for those few passes.

100% not true............people dont go on every ride equally...…...the vast majority gravitate to the popular rides and if you can skip that line (plus 2 more) it more than makes up for additional time for the less popular rides exponentially

insider info?

No. You're wanting the "perfect" family trip as if COVID never happened. It doesn't work that way. No one knows when pre-COVID conditions will return. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Everyone wishes COVID never happened, the most obvious for health, safety, and economic. Everything else we're dealing with is an inconvenience. So the question for you now is, "Are you willing to be subject to any post-COVID conditions in April?" If the answer to that is "no", then don't go. But there are plenty of people and families who obviously know they are going in post-COVID conditions and are going anyway.

I actually liked FP+ too for knowing we could do the stuff that was really important to us. However there is some inside info that suggests the whole system might change. And that could mean no advance FPs. My point is that we don’t know what might change, so it might be better to have a more open mind and accept that things may never return to what you know and consider imperative.

I think WDW is way different than DL in that DL is a locals park with no hotels and WDW is a tourist park and will have 30 hotels within the next 2 year. After issing a years+ worth of revenue due to the pandemic, they will need to do anything possible to fill those hotel rooms and get the more profitable guest to return. FP+ doesnt cost them any more money and will increase occupancy so I think they couldbe on the brink of expanding FP+ for on site guests
