Should I be scared to ride EE?

Nothing will ever empower you more than facing your fears -- you'll probably get a bigger thrill from that than the ride itself :)

It's a good ride. The BIG drop is tame compared to some of the thrill roller coasters. MGM's Rock & Roll coaster is more of a thrill ride. Everest is a lot of fun and try and go on it.

My daughter (12 years) and son (10 years) and both loved it and were a little bit scared the first time they went on but they wanted to ride Everest right away after it was over.

My brother's daughter (age 9) was very scared the first time she went on it and also was excited to ride it again.

Go for it!

So did you go on it? If so, how was it. I am in the same boat - terrified of the drop, but wanting to try it when i go in september.

Seriously - please ride Space Mountain. I held back for years and years, too, and finally rod eit due to peer pressure and now I look back and laugh how I ever thought it was scary.

All I can say is go for it!!! For me, the worst drop at Disney World is the Splash Mountain one. I still do it, just not as often. Kinda like TOT, I've done it, might do it again, but it is just not my thing. As for BTM and SM, I love them both! I like BTM more because of the western themeing which I LOVE! To me, EE is VERY much like BTM, just a little faster and it goes backwards for a little bit but otherwise, very similar! I promise, you DO NOT feel like you are going through a big drop at all. It is very smooth and a lot of fun, as a matter of fact, I rode it 3 times in a row last month. Try it, you'll love it!

:sohappy: Just 1 more day left for my birthday trip to THE WORLD on Friday! :sohappy:

I used to be the same way. Now I love roller coasters.

Try Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder mountain. Splash Mountain's drop looks big, but isn't as bad as it looks. It's over in a few seconds and even my little cousin went on it. He also went on Big Thunder Mountain and this kid is four! He loved it. No big drops, just a few hills. Same for Space. If you go on Big Thunder Mountian then you can go on Space Mountain. It's very simple. Same as Big Thunder, but in the dark. Which is actually more fun.

I haven't goen on EE yet, so I can't say the thrillfactor, but it doesn't look that bad. You can see the video here:

scroll to EE and watch the video. It really doesn't look that bad.

There is a rumor going around that during the hours the park is closed, the yeti comes to life, rips itself off it's mounts and goes out to kilamanjaro safari's to eat.;-) Notice how disney doesn't get many new animals? Think that's because they haven't tried? Yeah right! That's just the yeti eating at night:slurp:

So yes.....be afraid....be VERY afraid....he's ferocious!:D

That also explains why AK closes earlier than some other parks. They just don't want you to see the yeti out in the wild. Think of the children! Oh please think of the children!

Oi,
Jim

P.S. When you live near cedar point and some of the tallest fastest roller coasters in the world.....you get over your fear very quickly. People really had to push me to get on some of them when I was younger. Just make the decision once you get in line the only way you're getting out of line is going on the ride and out the exit. If you're anything like I was, your brain makes it much worse than what it is. And worrying only adds stress that makes you think a rollercoaster is terrible. If you relax, it's much more fun and you'll get used to them very quickly. You have my assurance as an engineer that nothing bad is going to happen;-) We know what we're doing:)
