Hey everybody,
So I just got my CP offer for next fall. This is the first time I have applied or gone, and my very laaaast choice was QSF&B. Sooo guess what I got offered? Yep.

It's not that I don't want to go, but I just know that I could be doing the same sort of job somewhere else and getting paid more... so I'm hoping you guys can help me out and tell me about people you know who loved working quick service F&B. Everyone I know that did it really didn't like it.

Help a girl out? Stories, opinions, etc.?

Thanks.

If it was me, I would accept the offer. I have done qsfb before, and it wasn't too bad for me (plus I loved my location). Also, the CP is different then working in food anywhere else. Being in Disney is so much fun, and is such a great experience.

When I did my program in 2005, I too got QSF&B. I think it was my second choice. I chose it because I really wanted to work for Disney and really didn't care what I did. Yes, you can work at local food locations, but its not Disney. If you have Disney on your Resume (and I know I sound like the recruiter ,and what not ,but i am not one) its a good thing no matter what the job was. Its even better to have on your Resume if you are looking to do other things with Disney and their affiliates.

So as for the role itself. Its more then working the restaurants. That is what I thought I would have been doing, but actually QSF&B also covers anything food related that is not table service. I on my program was assigned to Outdoor Food (ODF) at DAK (Animal Kingdom). This role includes the popcorn / ice cream / pretzels / any other outside vending carts. When Theater In The Wild was still doing Tarzan and it was an open Theater, we did theater vending there, and I really enjoyed doing that. And I think that is a role that is done at the Wide World of Sports Complex as well. Overall, I think that my experience working in ODF at DAK was the best there can be with QSF&B. The location changed almost daily, as well as the work, unlike a restaurant that you fill the orders or work the registers. I got the opportunity to sorta run what was like my own small business per say.

As for some final words, all I can say is, how badly do you want to work for disney? Are you thinking that you want to work for them later? Maybe do a professional internship later? Work for ABC, or ESPN, or anyone that Disney owns?

Finally, what is your major of study in school, maybe I, or others, can help you identify some transferable skills that QSF&B can provide to you that you can only get from Disney that you can't get at "The Golden Arches" ;) hahaha Just Joking.

Well, I do really want to work there. And I do want to work for them later, in a PI or at WDI... of course that's my dream job. I'd love to work at Pixar too, so it seems only logical to start at CP. John Lasseter did too, am I right? lol

I'm a fine art major. I'm a graphic designer, painter, etc, and my minor is in psychology. I'm really looking forward to just having the chance to do some networking.

I decided to accept... better QSF&B than nothing at all. :)
