I could have 2 smaller islands, with Tarzan's Treehouse on one and Skull Rock with Hook's Pirate Ship on the other, connected by a suspension bridge like Disneyland Paris' Adventure Isle (Hook's Ship and Skull Rock are on one island and Swiss Family Treehouse on another, connected by a bridge). Tom Sawyer Island at WDW's Magic Kingdom is also actually 2 islands, also connected by a suspension bridge!

I vote for that.

However, if I do the 2-island setup (linked by a swinging suspended bridge like Tom Sawyer Island), the pirate ship will have to go in Adventureland, since I probably don't have enough room in Fantasyland (which has close to 20 rides and attractions!) for that, and since Tarzan's Treehouse wouldn't fit anywhere else BUT Adventureland!

In addition, I didn't consider a suspended swinging bridge for Pocahontas Island (in Frontierland, surrounded by the Rivers of America), which is one long island roughly the length of WDW's Tom Sawyer Island island put together, maybe a little longer; so Adventure Island with the 2-island setup would be the best bet for the suspended bridge! If I recall correctly, Disneyland's Tom Sawyer Island is one long island (which is even shorter than WDW's TSI islands put together), but has a short suspended bridge that doesn't even go over water (I think), just for fun! :D :animwink:

As a pirate ship, sure, you could stick it adventureland, but it really isn't appropriate.

Why?

To stay true to the story, Captain Hook is only with the Jolly Roger in Never Never Land. By the time the Jolly Roger makes the cross over to the real world (London) with the help of tink, Captain Hook has been swallowed by the crock, and the ship now floats in air, not water.

If you want a ship in adventureland, put one in, just dont call it the Jolly Roger.

Oddly enough, Hook was alive and kicking in Return to Neverland (2002), so he must have found a way to get out of the crock! :D :animwink:

Also, both Disneyland's former and DLP's current pirate ships float on water, regardless of their location, so that had to have been overlooked somehow when both parks were being planned.

I got an idea, how about NOT building Hook's Ship at all. Instead, just build the Black Pearl in Adventureland...and if you're feeling extra brave, the RLS Legacy at Discoveryland.

The Black Pearl is the legendary ship from The Pirates of the Caribbean movie(s); The RLS Legacy is the solar-sailed space sailing ship from Treasure Planet. I think either or both would make for fantastic visual candy.

Oh, never got a chance to see either movie yet, but hopefully I will soon!
