Should fantasyland add any new attractions and if so what should they be?...

With the tread about favorite rides in fantasyland it got me thinking that there are not enough attractions in that area considering the size and available space not to mention the amount of attractions in other fantasylands.

So, what would you like to see there. It's kind of hard because so many things would fit well. I personally would like to see either a normal size or grand size dark ride and an off shoot area for Journey to the center of the Earth and 20k from Disney Sea. Back when the old 20k was around I liked the contrast it brought to the area and feel a simular contrast would be a great addition with these attractions. It feels like fantasyland should have some kind of grand E ticket.

As for a dark ride, maybe a newer better version of Mr. Toad.

I think Fantasyland should stay as family friendly as possible. What I would love to see is multiple dark rides built on the old 20k site. Little Mermaid, The Loin King, Mary Poppins, etc could all be represented. To keep with the latest Pixar ride building craze build a Ratatouille dark ride with an accompanying TS restaurant.

This is tough because there are so many deserving candidates that should have a home in fantasyland. I personally, feel that Lion King, Aladdin, Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast all deserve a dark ride in Fantasy Land. However, if I had to choose just one...it would be a massive Lion King E ticket occupying the 20k Leagues area.

Good luck with that Mr. Toad wish! A restored Journey Into Imagination at Epcot is probably 10 times more likely to happen, and even that is a long shot.

I think that the 90s Golden Era films, which were shafted in the attraction department due to tight theme park budgets of the time, are long overdue to get their own dark rides here in the US. I just hope they don't have to shut any of the existing dark rides down to make room (I'm looking at you, Winnie's Playful Spot!).

I think that a Little Mermaid ride (or pavillion) would fit in nicely and then they can combine the egress with Ariel's grotto. It would giver her a reason for being "banised" to her own little corner of Fantasyland.

My vote is also for a E-ticket Lion king attraction. Its long overdue, Disney only has 3 movies more successful than it (pirates 2 & 3 and finding nemo) Its number 21 on the world box office. Its a real shame that disney hasnt done something great with this one (yes I know, the FOTLK is a good show but it doesnt make up for a ride.) How cool would a lifesize pride rock look! I think a flume type ride would work well.

I'd love to see a dark ride based on Mary Poppins, I think it could prove to be a very popular attraction.

Fantasyland should definitely have some kind of Mary Poppins attraction. I personally think that the Peter Pan ride should have a major overhaul. Mayber a separate London Section could be built in the 20k graveyard/100 acre wood area. Wouldn't that be interesting.

The parcel of land left over by the removal of 20k is quite huge. It would not be hard at all to fit anywhere from 4 to 6 dark rides around the same sizes at Winny the Pooh, Snow White etc. in that area. If Disney really wanted to a service road could be relocated and it would make room for at least an additional 4 to 6 more. Imagine what the addition of 8-12 dark rides would do for the wait times and capacity of Fantasyland. Peter Pan would have a 15 minute wait on the 4th of July.

Alice in Wonderland ride from DL would be great. However, I agree that if they made some Little Mermaid stuff there, it would flow better with the grotto.

This is a great idea. I love the Lion King show but thats about all they really did with it. They could really play this one up. :)

Since they've replaced the "Legend of The Lion King" attraction in the MK with Mickey's PhilharMagic, there is "room" for a Lion King Ride.:ROFLOL:

I also would like the Alice in Woderland ride from DL or the Storybook ride. Both were/still are favorites growing up with DL.
