Should AVATAR land be built in B-mode?

Given the track record at AK in realizing Joe Rohde's vision, wouldn't it be simpler to skip the technology and build AVATAR land directly in B-mode? Or will that imply that there is a C-mode? Your thoughts?

More likely they'll have learned to build any technology with access for repair/replacement that is more conducive to quick turn-around.

Actually this is a pretty serious item. In the military, maintainability has become a huge issue. My guess is that the way creative drives the design at WDI, there is not much consideration for maintainability. The Yeti is a prime example.

So unless the move is to all projections, where fixing an effect amounts to changing a lightbulb, we will probably see much more B-mode in the future.

Prepare yourselves for disco Neytiri.

Quite the record, condemning that which hasn't even been designed, yet alone built and put into operation....

Disney is perfectly capable of learning from their mistakes of the past. Why would you automatically assume they would dumb-down their designs rather than build in access for appropriate maintenance? Although Engineers can be irritating as hell to work with, they're not generally stupid.

Well, I'm all FOR Disney "learning from their mistakes" but they just aren't. It's not just the Yeti, look at Luxo, from Pixar Place. I asked a cast member a couple days ago about it, and he was saying, like it's been said on this message board and the case has been closed, that it costs somewhere in the millions for THAT tiny animatronic to be fixed, and Disney just wasn't willing to pay that kind of money.

So, two great animatronics are now down for the count, which is why we're just assuming that if they've already shown the cards of their hand before, who's to say they won't do it again with Avatar?

Safety. Courtesy. Show. Efficiency.

These are the Disney Creed.

I am seeing more efficiency in some things (like the Japan pavilion's restaurant FINALLY getting a stand at the BOTTOM of the stairs) but "Show" seems to be getting sacrificed for something that ISN'T in the creed: Money.
