shorter hours

So, when they shorten park hours in the off season and such, why does it always mean closing early? I know I'm in the minority here, but I hate mornings as it is. If I can't get up by 9 a.m. for Disney, it's not going to happen for ANYBODY. I wish they opened later.

Al long as I'm fantasizing, I wish the park opened at 8 p.m. and closed at 7 a.m. The parks are so pretty in the dark, and I could always find a place to watch the parade. I'll bet lines for Splash Mountain wouldn't be too bad at 3 a.m. in December. But, reality tells me, if I want to have hours like that at the park, my best bet would be to join a maintenance crew. Changing light bulbs and painting hand rail all night could be fun.

um...the hours are cut mostly during the cooler months...it can be 35º at 5 in morning that time of year...not prime time to ride water rides.

EXACTLY!!!

I think it's obvious I was kidding around.

But really, with the hours I keep, I do wish they were open later.

I'm with you, I wish they would open later instead of close earlier. I would rather sleep in later. But the only reason I think this doesn't happen is the CM's. They are allowed to live at night too, and shouldn't be trapped in a park all night (or later) when there aren't a lot of crowds.

I'm sure it's also because of all the resort guests waking up excited and running out to the parks. With all the kids there, it would be lame to make those families wait around excessively for the parks to open....not having anywhere to spend their money after breakfast, etc.

I know it's a different market and all, but I got so spoiled growing up going to Disneyland in California. It was open until 1 A.M. in the summer when I was a kid. It was the latest I ever stayed up.

It just seems like they shut their doors right after it gets dark, down here at WDW. Not much fun for us vampires.

I rarely ever stay until a park closes but decided to a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't believe Magic Kingdom was closing with at least 2 hours of sunlight left! Do they not do the fireworks anymore? It was very disappointing.
