I just realized we are leaving in 15 days and all we have to wear are tennis shoes or flips flops-chepie ones from Old Navy! What shoes should we wear? Is there some place that would have good ones that I could check out?
Wow, you guys who wear flip-flops in the parks all day amaze me! My feet (and low back) would be killing me.
I wear my nicely broken in Adidas running sneakers. Even in the 90 degree heat; with all that walking, I have to!
I'd wear sneakers because I wouldn't plan on playing tennis while I'm walking around the park. Flip flops aren't made for long distance walking really.
I plan on taking down my Nike Running Shoes and a pair of Crocks. Just bought some Black Adidas Ankle socks last night and the test run was unbelievably comfortable.
when i'm there with my family i wear some new balance because we walk around for over 15 hours. but when i go solo i'm in the parks for around 5 hours sometimes longer...i just wear sandals
Get some Nike, New Balance, Rebok, etc. running shoes or cross trainers.
Pay at least $39 for them.
There's usually a sale on somewhere.
Wear with socks.
I made the mistake of taking only Crocs with me on my last trip (everyone said they were so comfy :shrug. After day 2 I had awful blisters on the balls of both feet.. ugh! Ended up having to pay just a smidge too much for some Adidas (and socks, didn't pack those either) at the Marketplace - chalk that incident up to price of an education :animwink:
Anyway, my vote is definately for athletic shoes - don't forget to pack plenty of extra socks!
The weather will also affect the choice of shoes--my usual comfy footwear is a backless sneaker, and DH's is a mesh athletic shoe, neither of which was capable of standing up to the often torrential downpours last week.
On our second morning at the World, we had to head off for the outlet to buy sneakers, taking care to get a pair that were fully leather with no mesh. While I hated laying out almost $100 on shoes we wouldn't really need once we got home, they saved the rest of the trip for us.
