Shoe suggestions

I usually just wear walking sneakers. We found a good way to relieve the swelling after all day in the park was a quick foot dip in the pool (especially on a cold December evening)

I usually get a new pair of tennis shoes 1 month before going. That way I can break em in a little around the house.

I may take my "Crocs" next time......they are cozy! I saw a lot of them last time we were there.

If you want your feet to be cool adidas makes the clima cools. They have venting in the side and underneath. New balance are very comfortable and also puma running shoes can be very well vented and light. If you are looking for a sandal, The sneaker type nikes are pretty good too.

I've found that the best thing to do is bring 3 pairs of shoes.

If pair #1 gets uncomfortable, I will switch the next day. That gives any hots spots a rest and time to heal. It's also good to have a spare pair if you get caught in the rain.

I take flip flops to wear around the resort, and of course, to the pool. I need more support at the parks than the $3 rubber things provide, but they are great around "home" and don't rub anywhere.

I agree on the Adidas ClimaCools. Very nice on warm days. Also, multiple pairs are key in case one pair gets wet. Another point to to make sure you get the shoes at least a month or two in advance and take time to break them in. With the amount of walking you do, broken in shoes are a must. Also, they make this stuff called 'Moleskin" (sold at drug stores and the like) that you can cut to size and apply in areas you may expect to see a blister. I did this with great results.

Have a great time!!

I usually wear walking shoes and a decent pair of socks for walking the parks during the day. If we are just going out to eat, see the fireworks, etc I'll wear my leather sandles. I've seen people wear flip flops, high heels (yep and the dress, jewelry & make up...hair done up to there bit), construction boots,
all manner of sandles and what it really comes down to is what is most comfortable for you. Whatever you pick make sure you can stand to wear then for hours at a time or you will be sorry.

I usually wear Sneakers. If it's really hot out however I'll wear my sandals. Just make sure they're really comfortable sandals. with a strap on the back. Other wise you're feet will really hurt

Be careful with sandals/flip-flops, i've seen more bloody (literally) feet because they rubbed against the skin moreso than "normal" wear and tear.

I recommend a comfortable pair of shoes that you've broken in - and socks. I don't understand the no-socks thing, it leads to blisters in FL humidity.

Depending on the park - EP and MK are comfortable sneakers. MGM & AK are comfortable sandals. Just make sure you bring more than one pair of shoes. In case you get a blister you wear a different pair to give the hurting area a break. :D

I wear a good pair of running/walking shoes for a day in a park. On our last trip I even got a pair of cushion inserts for my heels. I went with my mom to a Rockport shoe store and I'm thinking of buying a pair of their running shoes for my next trip.

Rockport makes some nice casual shoes that are great for walking called Rocksports. They are not the "coolest" looking shoes but are way comfortable. I have had 2 pairs for about 10 years now that are now just starting to not do the trick. Not bad to have lasted so long.

They are not cheap but if they last for close to forever, who cares.

Bring extra socks!!!
Bring extra socks!!!
Bring extra socks!!!

I always went to the extreme of carrying an extra pair for everyone in the family in my bag. I can't tell you the number of times when a dry (or cool) pair of socks changed a kid's attitude completely (works with grownups, too...)

Have a great trip!

I've been wearing my Sketchers sneakers for the past few trips and they've worked out well. I've also worn Reebok princess sneakers in the past.

Sandals (not flip flops) can work out well for some people. I'd recommend wearing socks with them, or you can buy these little sleeve things that you can put on and cover the skin where the sandals would rub. I have a pair of Hush Puppies leather sandals that are incredibly comfortable. I also have a pair of Earth Shoes sandals with the toe seperator that are also comfortable but the toe seperator can get a bit annoying. Look for hippie sandals, really. I've seen a lot of people wearing Birkenstocks but I haven't been able to try them out because they're too wide for my little feet. But flip flops are definately not good beyond walking around your hotel and maybe Downtown Disney; definately not for a long day at the parks.

Whatever YOU find most comfortable. I have a pair of cheap trainers/tennis shoes I picked up at Walmart a few years ago after my own shoes gave up the ghost. Despite being really cheap they fit well and I've racked up a lot of miles in them. Always worn with socks. I don't care if it's un-trendy, it's far more comfortable in the heat.

Before my trip last year I bought a pair of flip flops by the brand name REEF (the ones with the thick strap-- they have more support.) I was nervous about wearing flip flops in an amusement park butI hate wearing sneakers, so I actually took 2 mile walk around the block before I left. They are like walking on a cloud. I had no problems in the 7 days that I was in Disney. I wore them everywhere. The thick straps made sure that they stayed on my foot securely. I know that they sell them at Nordstroms and also at some smaller surf type shops. They were about $20 and worth every penny. I plan to buy a new pair for my next trip in July! Hope this helps!
