Shoe Question

I always wear tennis shoes to the parks. I have bad knees (started early in life) and they always bother me while at the parks. My question is, what type of shoes do you wear and why? Do you think a different type of shoe might help my knees not be so sore? I don't wear tennis shoes much at home as I have to wear heels and flats to work. My knees have been bothering me for the last week or so already and I'm not sure what to do for our trip this weekend. I'm bringing my knee brace and advil, but I was thinking maybe changing up my shoes might help. What do you think?

you should go to you local running store and have your feet measured to make sure you are wearing the proper sneakers for the way you walk. I know it sounds silly, but it makes all the difference in the world. The shoes can be a little prices in those stores, but they can tell you type of shoe you need and you can order then online or go to A local sporting goods store to find then a little cheaper. but it is well worth the investment.

The best thing is tennis shoes. Bring your most comfortable pair of broken in sneakers. I don't know what to tell you about bad knees. I have a bad knee I sprained several times in high school when I played football. It acts up every now and then. I do tend to do a lot of walking regardless, but I will always wrap it up and bring heating pads just in case.

I always wear running shoes. And by running shoes, I mean the kind I go to a running shoe store and get fitted for. My brand of choice is Mizuno (~$100), but that's a foot/walking-running style-specific thing. I have knee problems too, and always bring 2 pairs of shoes to change out every day. Good luck. Knee problems are such a downer and I no longer skimp on foot/knee comfort.

I rotated shoes. Tennis shoes for the morning and Crocs (ugly, yeah, but comfy!) for the evenings. Worked out very well for me.
