Shipping purchases from WDW

Apologies if someone has asked this before. Has anyone had experience shipping/mailing items purchased at the World? I know it's possible to call Guest Services and order parks merchandise, but I'd love to maybe ship back some potentially larger items for nostalgic reasons (it means more to me when I hand picked out an item from the location than to have one shipped from a warehouse, you know? Maybe I'm crazy! ) We're staying on property without a car, so is there somewhere in the parks to ship from? Thanks!

Yes, of course you can! Just tell the clerk who rings up your purchase that you'd like to ship it home. They'll give you the shipping label to fill out (press hard - you're making three copies ) and they'll take care of the wrapping, packing and shipping of your merchandise. They do a fantastic job, too. I've had some fragile stuff sent - nothing breaks. One thing disney does very well is ship stuff so it won't break.

And you don't have to pay tax on the purchase, so its almost like free shipping.

Sometimes it can take quite a while to receive it. They are kind of slow on that, sometimes. Otherwise, no problems.

When you purchase anything in the parks, you can have it shipped to your home or hotel if your staying at a Disney resort. They do charge for shipping to your home but you can pick what way you want it shipped (Normal Mail, Fedex etc). Just ask when you buy the item for a shipping form to ship it via Mail and they will gladly help you out.

At the time of purchase you can specify that you would like your items shipped home. We've had many items shipped back that we've purchased in the Disney shops and they all arrived extremely well packaged and arrived safely. Glassware, ornaments, things that you might worry about breakage. Never had an issue. We were told approximate shipping times and usually the packages arrived earlier than expected.
It is fun to get a package from Disney after you return home. It's like opening a Christmas package. Got into conversations with my UPS deliveryman who dropped off the packages, who is also a Disney fan.
We've also had to have some of my wifes medical items shipped back and used the shipping center located in the convention center at the Contemporary. Again we were pleased with the results.

Well now I feel silly - there have been occasions where I have lusted after one (or rather, many) ornaments and not been sure how to get them home safe and sound. And now you have convinced me to ship things back - what a great point about how fun it is to have something to look forward to after the downer that is leaving the World!

Yes, the added benefit of having items shipped from the Disney shops, packaged by Disney, will be covered for breakage.

Now that the kids are grown and scattered hither and yon, the wife always finds something that she "just HAS to get them". The CMs at the gift shops will hook you up and have the stuff sent anywhere you want. And yep, we have shipped many (and trust me, I mean MANY) a purchase to our home and never once have had a problem with breakage or delivery. Just something else that Disney does really, really well.

Anything you get shipped home from in the parks, it will take about 20 days to get to your home. So factor that into your planning, especially if you're sending holiday presents and you don't want little eyes to see the boxes rolling in
