Shipping/Post Office question

During my trip in June, I'm going to want to ship souvenirs to friends in different states directly from WDW instead of hauling them back home. What is the best way to go about this? Does Disney have a central post office/UPS/FedEx? Or can the WDW store I purchased the items at ship them directly? Or through my hotel, (POR), front desk? I'm sure there's some way but I just don't have a clue as to what it would entail.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can ship to anyone right from the point or purchase. Just fill out the delivery slip with your friends' address information. Not sure about how much the ost would be, though.

If you know *generally* what you'll be shipping, you could look into the Post Office's flat-rate boxes and envelopes. You can pre-purchase them and bring them along on your trip ($4.05 for the envelope, $8.10 for the box). If they're all pre-paid and sealed up, I'm sure the front desk would take them for you and put them in with their regular mail pickup.

But if you actually need a Post Office, you'd probably need a car to drive to an off-site one. According to the USPS website, there's one about 1/2 mile from the Crossroads Shopping Plaza, as well as one in Celebration.

Shippiong direct from the stores is a less attractive option. They now charge based on item cost rather than size.

Last time we shipped stuff, we found a Staples and shipped stuff UPS. Staples was nice because they had all the shipping supplies there too, boxes, bubble wrap, tape. Depends on if you are shipping breakable stuff or not.

The stores at WDW will definitely ship items home and to your family & friends for you. Alternately, if you have a car, you can drive to a post office, Kinko's, Staples, UPS Store, etc and have them send your items for you.

Ship through your hotel front desk. It will cost you half of what they will charge you in the stores. We purchased a poster at MGM last year and the Mercantile at the Wilderness Lodge was going to charge us about $50 to ship it home. They told us they ship based on the cost of the item. We decided to ask at the front desk and they quoted us about $25 to ship it and they went based on weight. Also the stores ship ONLY via DHL. The front desks ship via UPS/FEDEX. We shipped through the front desk and it arrived in 2 days via FEDEX.

We've shipped our souveniers back home UPS through the front desk at Caribbean Beach and the Contemporary. At the CB, they even found a box in the back, and had packing tape, etc. At our recent trip, we stayed at the Contemporary, and went to the convention center and they did the same, providing a box, packing tape, etc. Since it was a short trip and we had carry on luggage only, I took some souveniers home and shipped some clothes back home!

Here's a couple of things to keep in mind:

1) If you accept the merchandise on site you'll be charged FL state sales tax.

2) If you ship merchandise from POP you (and you live out of FL ) you won't be.

3) Depending on the amount of stuff, you may wish to go to a WDW resort that has a business center and ship out of there.

The Coronado Springs has a business center in the convention/meeting area of the hotel and it has packing supplies and boxes, as well as Fedex & UPS forms and pick up.

Definitely don't ship from the store- they charge an outrageous rate.

If you have a car, go to a Staple or UPS Store. You'll pay a fraction of the price. If not, ship from the resort, as it's still cheaper.

When someone else mentioned Staples, I thought of Mailboxes Etc (partnered/owned by UPS) and Kinko's (partnered/owned by FedEx).

Kinko's has a location apparently right near the Post Office near Crossroads. The address is 12181 S Apopka Vineland Rd. Go to the end of Hotel Plaza Blvd, turn left. It'll be on your right in about 1/2 mile (at least I'm assuming it's on the right-hand side).

MBE has a location, but it's 9 miles away on East Osceola Parkway.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. If I can't make it off property then I'll definately use my hotel. Most of the items I want to ship are the famous black Mickey Mouse hats with the name stitched aross the front. (Seems those are on the top of the list of sovenirs for everyone). And I hate to spend three times the amount just for shipping them.

this has been very helpful! ive just been browsing for info for our upcoming trip (honeymoon!). i plan on doing a bit of shopping and thought we would just bring an extra bag to put souveniers in on the flight. but shipping through the resort is a much much better option. that way i can make sure nothing gets broken, and not have the stress of having an extra bag of stuff to lug home! :)

I've always been charged $10 UPS in the stores....no matter what I buy (shipped to IL within a week)
