I have a new question, I think. This year will be the first year we will be traveling with my son (18 mnths). Since we have 1 more person than usual and less room than before, we are concerned about getting all of the stuff we need down there with us. I was wondering if anyone has ever packed a box of things (diapers, snacks, sipper cups, etc.) and had it sent to the WDW hotel before they left. We were thinking this wouyld save us enough room to make it. Let me know if anyone has any advice or experience with this type of plan.

Airlines usually allow two pieces of checked luggage per paying customer. If you are buying your son a seat on the plane down, and flying with a spouse, then that would be 6 suitcases (up to 75 lbs or so each) that you could all check.

How long are you staying for and how much stuff are you bringing?

Even if you don't buy your son a ticket, you still get 4 pieces of checked luggage between youself and a spouse. And checked luggage doesn't doesn't mean a samsonite suitcase. I've seen everyting from cardboard boxes to hefty bags sealed with duct tape get checked.

But seriously, how long are you staying, and how much stuff are you bringing? Our family went skiing from the time my son was 10 months old, and we always had room. This was clothes (including snowsuits, ski bibs, parkas, thermal underwear, hats, gloves, etc), boots (including ski boots) for 2 adults, one child, and one toddler. We didn't bring our own skis, snowboards, or poles. (After a while, we stopped bringing the ski boots, too.) One year we even brought his Brio trains! Plus I brought laundry detergent and dryer sheets.

Sometimes, I even packed a little bit of food so I didn't have to run to the store as soon as we got there.

We were there in Aug with my 7 Mo. Niece. We thought of the same, what to lug. We have traveled with our children at these ages as well. My point is, Bring what you need to get there and then head to Walmart or Walgreens and buy a supply for the lenght of your trip.:sohappy:

If you decide to send down a box, here's what you need to do. Address it to yourself c/o your resort and it's address. Please put your arrival date in the bottom left corner of the box, large enough so that they will see it and they will hold the box for you until you arrive. I would also call the hotel prior to sending it to let them know you will be sending a box. (speak to a manager)
