I am sure we will. But I might ask the server very quietly if we can split meals and credits in case the next table gets mad at me!!! Thanks for your experience and help.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
This is what I usually say - We ended up having a later lunch than planned, so do you mind if the two ladies split a meal, and the gentleman will have his own entree?
Because I know it's not allowed at Via Napoli, I always pay OOP there; in which case you can split a single serve pizza. (Two single serve pizzas for three people and you are still walking out of there with leftovers.) Other than that, not one single time have we been refused. And as stated by someone else, nine times of ten, the kitchen will neatly split it for you.
It's not cheating. At all. Your conscience should be entirely clear.

Perfect! They will love trying new things and will no doubt have more than enough by sharing. Good to know I am not the only mum who doesn't want to keep putting enormous plates of food in front of them and watching half of it go back to the bin. Or have vomit in the room afterwards because they are stuffed with too much food! Honestly, the cost of it is the lesser issue for me, it's the waste that I hate!
Ok. Conscience is now clear thanks to lots of lovely e xperienced disney people! Thanks to you all. I Will ask (quietly!) at each location beforehand to make sure, but it is good to know beforehand that generally restaurants do not have a problem with this. My girls would split a breakfast at the resort too. 1 adult platter or pancakes is enough for them to split. We would sometimes buy and extra side of bacon and another drink and that is plenty of food. Do not feel embarrassed about asking to split a meal. It happens more then you would think. They do not even blink and eye at it. When are you going?
We will be there from October 15th for 14 nights. Can't wait!

That was one item I was about to bring up. I'd suggest giving the server a little extra in the tip department, especially if they go the extra length of splitting the entree onto two plates before serving it.

We just notice (and I speak to other Brits about this) that portion sizes are always larger than we are used to. Whiłst we have never done dining plan at Disney before we have visited the resort a number of times so we have an idea of what to expect. We have travelled widely in Africa, Asia and Europe but it is amazing how different portion sizes, offerings, attitudes to families can be around the world and I would always rather know stuff before I go than upset people or feel embarrassed in any way when I am there.
So looking forward to staying at the Polynesian!

It OK, you can call Americans fat. LOL And I agree that portion sizes here are huge. I don't know how people can eat all of that food. I usually eat 1/2 at restaurants and take the rest home. Too bad that is not that easy to do at WDW. Like I said earlier, our family shares meal a lot.

I don't believe she was saying she wanted to cheat the system and if anyone is cheating I think that would be Disney I have 5 boys so I know how boys eat and I have not had 1 yet that finishes an adult meal at the age of 9 but Disney charges them as adults so instead of being rude to the person asking the question think about how much Disney is making on a daily basis just on food
I had spoken too soon. In the past, meal sharing was not allowed on the dining plan, but apparently, the rules have changed, and you are only restricted from sharing at buffets. I had apologized for speaking too soon without all the facts. I thought only those 10 and older were considered adults on the plan? Has that changed too? I ask because you mentioned a 9 year old and the adult plan.
Disney is cheating everyone with a dining plan, but most here only care that it's convenient to pre-pay, and then not worry about it on vacation. I understand that attitude, but we prefer the TiW and to eat how we want.

I would like TiW as well. However, since that is restricted to Florida residents and annual passholders, it isn't available to us. We don't live in Florida, and being that we only come once per year, annual passes don't make financial sense.
Do you visit at the exact same week every year? The reason I ask is if you stagger the weeks - e.g. July 17-23 this year, and then July 9-15 next year, you get 2 trips out of the APs. Much cheaper than 2 7 day passes, and you are shielded from the price increases for that year. You would then buy a new AP in 2018 for the next 2 trips. If you do a lot of TS restaurants with adult beverages, the TiW makes excellent economic sense as well. It is also good at all of the lounges, say during a monorail crawl, to get 20% off those beverages as well.
Don't know if that could work for you, but that is how we do it. Of course, we go down 2-3 times every year so can sometimes get 4 trips on our APs, and at least 3 every time.

Ok I get it was funny to you but maybe not to others um like myself.... Why don't you look through the rest of his comments toward the woman asking the question he was belligerent and a bully toward her also. So I guess this monkey is just sensitive to people making fun of her.... And was just trying to help out the woman who was asking a simple question and got picked on.....
