Sharing quick service meals on DDP

I was wondering if anyone shared their quick service credits on the dining plan? We have two kids and two adults on the plan this Fall and are light eaters through the day, so is it frowned upon to use two credits for breakfast and two for lunch? For example, purchasing two adult quick service meals at each meal, and sharing with the kids.

I know it's not possible for table service credits since those are designated "child" or "adult", but can we do that for our quick service credits?

Go for it.

The credits aren't really assigned to individuals. Two adults going for seven nights don't have 7 QS meals EACH, they have 14 QS meals total. Divide that up however you want. One person could eat all 14 TS meals and the other all the QS meals.

Yes you can definately do that for quick service meals! Many people do to make their credits last longer etc. quite a few of the adult meals especially are large enough to share with your children. As you know and stated the only time you can't share is during the table service meals. :)

You can share TS meals too if you're ordering off a menu. Obviously not if it's all you can eat TS. And there's a fixed number of adult and child TS credits. But ordering off a menu at TS you could have 2 adults splitting an adult meal and 2 kids splitting a kid's meal.

Yes correct if not on the dining plan they can share Table Service, but they are on the plan so no they cannot just order a few meals and share if the children are over 3 and on the plan as well. If No dining plan you can do whatever you want, but if on it and children are over 3 and on it as well, you have to follow the allotted meals for all members at the table. :)

IF you're a kid. Table service credits are divided between adults and children. So if you are going on a five night trip , 2 adults and 2 children, with the regular plan you would get 10 adults table service credits and 10 childs table service credits.

My plan is to divide up our quick service credits in a way where we order 4 adult meals and share them over the course of two meals, essentially doubling our QS meals (and halving our food).

We've shared TS meals on the DDP many times when ordering off a menu. No server has ever told us we couldn't do that.
You can share off each other's plates at table service locations, but everyone has to use a dining credit that is at your table including children (over 3) and adults, unless some are not on the dining plan with split parties etc. :)

That has never been my experience, and it's easy to find very recent reports on other sites of 2 people on the DDP sharing a TS meal and using only 1 credit. The only places I've heard of where people report not being able to do this are Via Napoli and Beaches & Cream. :):)

We got two breakfast platters and shared them between the 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids) because there was just so much on the plate, but watch you're actually using the QS credits each day. Between the heat, the amount of food and my silly notion we might run out of credits and have to pay oop (the horror!!) we had 8 left on our last half day so had to pile up at breakfast and lunch (not so bad?) but we also had a pile of snack credits which were wasted on last minute bagged sweets from DTD (so bad!)

This has ALWAYS been the rule at TS restaurants, just some waiters may let people get away with it. It does not devalue it because how tbe rule is, is how your supposed to use it. Lol :)

I've never seen that rule stated anywhere. We've split a TS meal at least 15 times and no server has ever raised an eyebrow about it. Many people have reported similar experiences here and on other sites.

People have argued about whether it SHOULD be allowed but it's rare that anyone flatly states it's NOT allowed.

Any any restrictions on how the DDP plan can be used reduces its value. :):):)

To each his own. I know it was in the fine print somewhere and someone at one time posted it. All I know is me and DH follow it as you are intended to. What others do is not my concern. Lol :)

I'm not sure I understand what your issue is about this.
I wouldn't be laughing "lol" if I had an actual issue with people sharing credits at a table service restaurant. As to why I said what others do is not my concern. All I did was state your not supposed to for the OP and others that asked. Quick service you can but table service you are not "supposed" to but as others mentioned usually the wait staff does not enforce that at table service restaurants. This issue has been talked about many times in here before in the past. Nobody in here ruffles my feathers or bothers me so again no issue I just give advice as I know it. :)

If there is four of you sitting at the table but you only order two meals they will only take 2 credits off of your balance for the meals. They do not care if the kids pick off of your plate. The only time they may complain is if you have guests that are not on your plan.
