Sharing Counter Service Meals

Does anyone have ideas regarding splitting counter service meals between my child and myself? I'm trying to stay healthy on vacation. Plus we are one meal short on the dining plan.

Thanks! I know the portions are huge. Plus my daughter will not be stuck with chicken nuggets from the kids menu. We want to share snacks also.

BTW, at the counter service meals, the credits aren't split between children and adults so your daughter can order off the adult menu. Some days my kids want chicken nuggets and some days they don't so I just order an adult meal for them and let them split it.

This is great advice. We usually get two adult meals to split between our three children who were all under 9 but at least 3 during our last visit. This really helped us when we booked CRT or another 2 credit meal.

While were on the subject of sharing counter service meals, have any two adults tried it? I don't know if they're enough food for two adults, thinking of sharing some with my boyfriend, but not if it wouldn't be enough for the two of us.

Well depending how big a eater you and your boyfriend are.I got the " create your own pasta " from PORS. It was so big my DW thought it was a combo for both of us.

My husband and I have shared meals in EPCOT. Our daughter is a picky eater. So that is why I'm looking for suggestions of kid friendly meals.

I'm not that big of an eater for meals in WDW, I'm more into snacks, so I would be fine sharing, the boyfriend on the other hand was not thrilled about the idea.

I remember sharing with my mom when I was a little kid though, I think Sunshine Seasons was a good place to share with a child if I remember correctly. Or we would share burgers, a lot of the counter service burgers are more than my mom wanted to eat anyways.

Don't know if I could survive on snacks. But there's a lot more to Disney than burgers & fries.Suggest you start checking out reviews on food blogs.

My daughter was 19 the last time we went together and we frequently shared our counter service meals. We are not big eaters for breakfast or lunch, so splitting a meal was just enough food for us. Hope this helps.

It depends on the meal, but many are big enough to share. DH and I shared a chicken and rib plate from Fairfax Faire in January and we were both stuffed. We ordered a counter service meal and Kringla Bakeri (includes a huge sandwich, salad, dessert, and drink), and there was more than enough food for two adults. The chicken wrap at Pecos Bills, and the schwarma platters at Tangerience Cafe are also large enough to share.

There are several options I can think of. We try our best to eat healthy as well, but (lets be honest) rarely happens!! The nachos at La Cantina San Angel (sans the jalapeno peppers for the little one) is plentiful and flavorful. The tuna sandwich (I believe they call it Anchors Away) or the Broccoli Peppercorn salad at Columbia Harbor House is possibly another way to go. If you are big on waffles, (and for a breakfast) try the Nutella and fruit waffle at Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom. The burgers or taco salad, at Pecos Bill can easily be shared. Also, one of the many options at Earl of Sandwich is another possibility. Also at DTD, Wolfgang Puck Express has many options. I am sure, any choice you make, will be enjoyable! Have a wonderful time! :sohappy:

Great ideas! I figure I'll walk off all that I eat! Just looked at our schedule. One day we start at 8:00 and finish at 1:00 AM in another park.

My DH and I do this all the time and it works out great. He goes to one CS and I go to another. At Epcot, I'll go to La Cantina for the nachos, and he will go to either China, Japan or England. We do the same at MK, definately the way to go :)
