Sharing a meal

I am wondering, has anyone ever shared the meal rather than getting 2 separate ones? I'm asking more in regards to my daughter's. The one really doesn't eat much and the other just eats off everyone else's plates LOL. Last time we were there she wasn't included in the dining plan, so we just bought her meal or she ate off ours. This time they will be on the dining plan. I'm not trying to save money, it is just silly for them both to get a meal when I know most of it will be wasted. I'm wondering if I can just buy one and have them split and then save their dining credit for another meal.

Yes, we've done that many times.

At a CS restaurant (and I think, at a TS restaurant where you're ordering things a la carte), sharing/splitting shouldn't be a problem.

At a buffet or "family style" meal, however (anything with an "all you care to enjoy" component), I believe you'll be required to pay (via DDP credits or out of pocket) for everybody at the table over the age of 2, regardless of whether and how much they eat.

Yeah, I didn't even think about the buffets lol. I know I have to pay for her there :-) I just meant the quick service and Table service. I didn't think they would say anything, but I didn't want to look like I was cheap either haha. Sometimes the children's meals are so big, and most of the time they get the same thing anyway. I can always buy another meal if they eat that one.

My family of 4 includes my wife, and two daughters in their teens/20's. Quite often they split dishes, and it is never a problem. Heck, in the QS they often order kids meals as they prefer the portion sizes on those.

We have many times at quick serve as well as regular and signature table service venues just not when on a meal plan or at a buffet of course. My sister and I do it the most often when we travel together which I love. It lets us not spend money on food we can't finish and to enjoy an appetizer, entree, and a dessert. Most places will just split it onto two plates before even bringing it out to the table.

We share all the time. When my kids were little they would share an adult meal. Most of the time the server would bring it out on 2 plates. You will have no issues sharing.

We also share a lot of meals. Quick service meals are never a problem to share. Seated dining - the waiters are not so keen on it but will do it.
The seated dining meal portions are huge and expensive. Last time we went to 50's Prime time I ate way more than I should have. I could have easily split a meal. I didn't want to waste the food since it was expensive, and didn't want to carry a to go box all day either.

Yup it's never been a problem. I just find it best to clearly state to your waiter how many entitlements you will be using. Many of them are very good and will ask you before you even order. Some however don't understand and try to coax you into getting more food. I think it may be because some people on the deluxe plan have so many left they want to burn them up. Should be no issue though, just a heads up.

My wife and I usually share QS meals.
I think there is enough for 2.
We are always satisfied(full).
Especially if we are at a QS location with a toppings bar( Pecos Bill's, Cosmic Ray's)
