I've been fine with the shared park ones, but at disney springs tonight and its out of hand.

3 buses so far and still a large line!!!

Anyone else annoyed by this?

I am always annoyed by waiting, but that is what happens. The only time I start to get upset is when I wait 30+ minutes before seeing a bus for the resort I am staying at or the park I am trying to get to. This has happened at least twice and it was last year in December while staying at Pop for I believe eight days.

We have had to wait for multiple buses at both Pop and Art many times last year, this was during our stays both in September and December, but there were a lot of people and the buses were coming at least every ten minutes. Which to me was very acceptable. Still annoying but to be expected, I feel.

When ever we have stayed at resorts like the Dolphin and Swan, Contemporary, basically the deluxe resorts, there have been few times we have had to wait long or for multiple buses. We have to stand a few times because they were full and there is nothing wrong with that.

Now the Friendship boats, we have had to wait for two to three boats before when leaving EPCOT or HS at the end of the night. One day I will convince my wife to just walk back to our resort instead of waiting.

I once read that the reason baggage claim is so far from your arrival gate at the airport is that if you are moving, time passes quicker.
In other words, standing at an empty baggage carousel is more frustrating than walking half a mile to a full baggage carousel.

At the KC airport, the baggage area is a 2 minute walk from the gate, so you have to wait for the luggage to be unloaded. While I appreciate the convenience, it does feel like it takes forever for the bags to arrive.

This is the reason we take cabs/Uber/left/ back at night.

Is this prenetious and smacking of “not rubbing elbows with the “little people?” Maybe, but I’m not apologizing. We budget for this at night so we can avoid what our OP discribes. YMMV.

This is absolutely correct.

One of the largest studies regarding this was at the Houston airport. They examined their procedures and got baggage processing time down to a very respectful level and logically sent the baggage to the closest baggage terminal relative to the arrival gate.

People still complained.

They then moved it to a terminal farther away where most of the wait time was spent walking. Even though the wait time was a tad longer, complaints dropped to near zero.

We began using ride services as well at WDW. Not all the time, just for certain times of day, park to park, or resort to resort. Most uber rides have been under $10 and we request th ride when we walk out of our room and the car is usually waiting by the get outside. Well worth it to save time IMO.

I’m staying at ASM in early December. Where do the Uber’s pick you up at the MK? Or is it easier to walk to Contemporary and get it from there?

Do the All Stars still share busses in early December or isthis just September when it’s a quieter time?

Unless the side of the road is a valid pick up location, the closest place I can think of where anyone not driving a Disney vehicle could go would be the Contemporary .

Yeah, from what I understand either the Contemporary if you don't mind walking over or else they can drop you at the TTC and you can take the monorail or boat over. The one benefit that the Minnie-Vans have over Lyft/Uber is that they can drop you off in the same spot as the resort buses. You are paying a whole heckuva lot more for that privilege, though.

I find it really hard to justify spending money on transportation when there is free transportation that can get you anywhere. It will never be worth the convenience. Then again, I don't have a lot of money.

I am cheap and would rather wait for a bus instead of spending the money for a ride back to the resort.

Plus we have anywhere from 6 to 12 people in our group heading back to the resort.

We take cabs back from the parks, Uber/Lyft is for the occasional hop to another resort. I fact probably far more cabs than anything else.

It’s not like we’re super rich, as noted we simply budget for it like our bar tab ;)

And given the battlion sized party you have I can see why that wouldn’t work!

We make decent money and I still won't pay for an Uber or any other ride. Besides, the Disney Transportation is not free, it is in our resort costs one way or another.

At park close, the main benefit is not the saved time spent sweating in line, it's getting to bed 45 minutes earlier. We get up for rope drop, waking up is easier when you get a little more sleep, and you did not spend 30 more minutes on your already sore feet.

I am going to guess that like me, most people as they are headed to their bus stop are looking to see if there is a long line. Then begins the mental count of the line. Will I have to stand, will I even make it on the next bus, will I have to stand on the 2nd bus?

$12 for Uber is worth it for us.

Totally agree. I haven’t used Uber at Disney yet, but this year I will consider it if the lines are long. I’m too familiar with 2 inchworm busses coming back to back and there’s still a log line of people waiting for another bus. 😩
