Whew, please turn off the italics, bold and caps lock. Believe me, it makes it much easier to read. The princess float probably won't return, since it carries a lot of emotion for the performers that knew the cast member involved in the accident. Show stops probably also won't return until there is a new parade. The new Parade of Dreams in California incorporates show stops, but the floats have safety systems that the SADCT floats don't. Unless they incorporate these systems, don't expect to see the SADCT parade do any more show stops. We are about due for a new parade soon, though, aren't we?

"Then there will be a very special moment, when all the Disney princesses gather together, that will send shivers down the spines of anyone who believes in dreams come true...."-weird guy from 2001 Disney planning video

I guess not anymore. I think SADCT parade is at its limit. Its been around since the 100 years of magic celebration, and its getting very old. It's time for a new parade to take its place.

what accident happend on the parade?

Magic Kingdom suffered the loss of one of its most valued family members. The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon in an area just to the left of Splash Mountain. This area is known as the “parade step-off,” in which the afternoon Share a Dream Come True parade emerges from backstage to full view of the park guests. This parade includes a float referred to as the Princess Float. This float is made up of three sections: the first for Cinderella, the middle for Belle, and the last for Ariel. The tragic accident took place near the right-hand area on the Ariel section of the float.

Javier Cruz, who was costumed as Pluto during the parade, apparently was knocked over by the float and fell underneath the vehicle.

Unfortunately, the driver operating the float is located in the first section of the float under the Fairy Godmother. From his vantage point, the driver would have no knowledge as to what was going on behind him. The driver's seat is on the left side of the first section and the accident took place on right hand side of the last float section.

Just as the accident occurred, one female cast member rushed to the float and pounded on the vehicle in an attempt to get the driver to stop the vehicle. This same cast member was also the first to rush to her fallen friend to remove the top of his costume.

Many of the cast members who witnessed this scene became understandably hysterical, especially the young women portraying Ariel on that section of the float—she had seen Cruz go under the float.

On Thursday afternoon in the true showbiz tradition of “the show must go on,” Magic Kingdom cast members once again prepared for the afternoon Share a Dream Come True parade. Thursday's parade was very emotional for all.

As the parade weaved its way onto the viewing area, the last section of the parade where Cruz would have bounded into public view as Pluto, included his friends who performed a silent prayer as they went “on stage” and began to bring joy to their park guests.

As one cast member remarked, “I'm sure it's what Javier would have wanted; he was a very active character.”

I agree - and I would of thought that a special HCOE parade would have been developed for these celebrations :(

To tell the truth, that float has been part of SADCT within a month of the sad event.

I'm gonna give it till 2008. A new one now would overshadow PoD at DL. EPCOT has it's anniversary coming up--so in between our 35th and 40th I'm guessing they'll come up with some sort of celebration. Maybe it can be the "One year anniversary of the removal of Stitch's Great Escape." Here's to hopin...

Perhaps you're thinking of when the castle float gets put into the Christmas parade? Sometimes, due to certain circumstances, the parade's cut short and floats are missing (the most common being rain)

First off, enough with capitalizing every letter. It makes it look like every word's a sentance. Second, do you realize that you're "arguing" with a couple of CMs who have seen this parade probably more than once a month because we work in that park?

He's still got Caps Lock on, it's a forum feature that automatically does that if the entire post is in Caps.

Okay, I'm a bit confused. When you said "that unit has been in the parade within a month of the tradgedy," did you mean the crystal castle float, or the princess triple snowglobe that was involved in the accident? I was under the impression that the triple snowglobe has yet to reappear, and the crystal castle has more or less permanently taken its place.

The first of the princes snowglobes is back in the show. The crystal castle seems to have taken the place of the other 2 that are no longer in the show. I am not sure if it is a permanent thing, but this is the way the show has been presented for over a year now.

And thank you Arron

Okay, thanks for clearing that up.
