Shanghai is a Success and Investments are Paying Off

The financial success of the company doesn't necessarily translate to better value or a better experience for a theme park guest (or movie goer, or ESPN watcher, for that matter). It COULD... and I would argue, SHOULD, but it's not necessarily true. In fact, the counter argument is that by cutting expenses and raising prices, you can improve the financial position of the company while negatively affecting guests/customers.

I hope SDL continues to be successful and profitable, and that Disney reinvests those profits into the parks. We'll see.

Not sure how Iger will survive that $1 million pay decrease. I mean, he only made $43.9 million last year (in total compensation), and has 1.1 million shares of DIS stock (or is it 1.4 million shares, now? I can't find the current info I had a while back), how's he going to feed his family???
Tough times for him truly lol

I suppose the hired help will only be able to polish the silver once a month now instead of weekly... so I guess they'll be eating off of slightly tarnished forks.

Now comes the tricky part....will CCP force further investment into the park so soon? We know they want too. During the final stretch to opening it's no secret that to some degree there was number crunching stateside to absorb additional Shanghai costs...lets hope Disney isn't forced to expand there anytime soon and they can pour money into the state side parks....more specifically Florida the defacto red headed stepchild of the parks. It's like if your room mate paid all the bills and you still forced him to live under the stairs.
Disney World has two broken parks and a third with some of the worst capacity problems ever. A fourth park is a real gem...not only is it lush and inviting there's less people!!!

Side note I don't buy into the make the other three parks better and less strain on MK theory most guests are here on 4-7 day vacations and already have a day slotted for each park and if 5+ often a second MK day. If you made epcot the greatest thing since sliced bread for example your not changing the fact that a guest has a day or two allocated for MK just like they have a day set aside for epcot. Your (draw away from MK) theory can only be sort of rational for 1 day tickets....how many of those do they sell?
