On Instagram, if you go to the official WDW page, this picture exists.

Shockingly, the Instagram picture has a LOT of praise for this attraction!! Every now and then you'll see someone say "this ride hurt a little" and "he burped in my face" but that's about as big as the complaints got for this thing. I found it shocking because I grew used to Everton bashing it around all over the internet.

So maybe this is why it still exists. Maybe it actually is enjoyed be regular theme park goers.

Plants....all of em!

Seriously though, Disney does a pretty good job of moderating what posts get through on all of the Social Media sites.

I have had more than a few posts never see the light of day because I wasn't gushing enough for Disney.

There was still a few complaint posts, though! Every now and then you see someone post "this was the worst" or something similar.

But yea. No doubt that they probably monitored the posts. Still, even with that done, you could easily see a pretty big amount of people that like the attraction which is still pretty shocking!

Utter nonsense - i refuse to believe even one human being can find redeeming features in that attractions. Even the cast member who was in charge of the attraction for the day i rode on, appologised to a few people on the way out.

I don't think they monitor them as much as you think. Just read the comments on the FB post announcing Frozen in Norway. Almost ALL of them are negative.

I agree, I mentioned to them Bringing back the Figment Topiary for F&G and it was removed..

For those curious..Here's what it looked like...

Reading the posts I dare say they're posted by pre teens.

The attraction consistently scores the lowest in all of WDW in surveys.

That's still an audience for an attraction nonetheless. Maybe not a big audience... But still more than what we all probably expected.

It's a brilliantly done example of setting up the mood for the show. Too bad the attraction itself falls flat. To put it in wrestling terms, the pre-show is the opening match of Chris Benoit vs Dean Malenko, while the attraction proper is the main event of Kevin Nash vs. King Mabel.

Any idea how they actually could have made a main attraction that lives up to the pre-show?? I could easily see some sort of dark ride and simulator ride that could be made out of this.. But given the space that had to be used, how in the world would a good attraction be made after a great pre-show in such small amount of space?

The basic premise of the attraction works. I just feel they focus too much on the easy gags ("Ha-ha! He belched!") instead of the weird, somewhat subversive humor that made the film such a hit. Also, there's no redemptive arc, or even anything that would hint at the possibility of a redemptive arc, since this takes place before the film proper. And it CAN be done- just take a look at Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep for an example of how to tease a Stitch face turn without full on turning him good yet.

Also, for heaven's sake, give Kevin MacDonald ONE funny line to read as Pleakley. Why on Earth bring in one of the Kids in the Hall to reprise his role if you're not going to let him be funny?!?

They could've left it as Alien Encounter. That would've made me happy...

What's always bugged about the attraction is that stitch refers to himself literally as Stitch.. Yet this is a prequel to the movie.. And stitch didnt get his name until Lilo named him..

And unless you know what came before you might think it well done.

I was sadly one of those little children that cried to the point that my dad had to take me out of alien encounter to the gift shop right before the attraction started. I only remember the pre-show terrifying me and then wanting to bail out once I reached the dark room. Sorry for contributing to this cause guys!!! XD

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Bouncy! Bouncy! Bouncy! :joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: Not not the best attraction but it is cute! I got to experience Alien Encounter years ago and yes it was better of course, but I do kind of agree it did not fit either.

I'm just surprised at how many people like Stitch as a character. He's the worst possible role model and he's not even that cute, he's disgusting. But for some reason, he's "adorable" and people can't get enough of him overseas (Asia).
