Seven Dwarfs Mine Train...Mild or Wild?

Being prone to motion sickness...I rode Everest and ended up in the local walk-in clinic with vertigo...I'm wondering how would you rate the intensity of the Mine Train? Milder, the same or worse than Big Thunder Mountain? (which I can tolerate.) Thanks!

I think BTMR is a little rougher and just a little faster. The intensity would be close to BTMR but not as intense as EE or RNRC. It is a smooth ride with pivoting cars. I think this lessens the feel in the curves. Though BTMR is a little faster it feels faster in the curves, this may be because of tighter radius curves, if this is so, a higher acceleration is needed to maintain speed.

Anyways, of all the major coasters at WDW, this is probably the tamest.

Not even close to Everest. I would say just a bit under BTM but also a shorter ride experience. Personally, I couldn't feel the carts sway, probably just made the turns smoother.

I can relate. I am very prone to vertigo.

On Everest, it is always the backwards part that gets me woozy! What actually helps me on Everest is holding my seat behind my head (putting your arms over your head to grab the back) to sustain my upper body a little bit.

Silly I know, but it may help you stabilize better.

Oh the Mine Train? Psssssshhhh.

One of the nice parts of Seven Dwarfs is that the most "intense" parts (if you can even consider them intense) each last only a few moments. The vast majority of the ride you are moving quite slowly either on one of the two lift hills or through the dark ride portion. As everyone else has noted, it's by far the least intense coaster on property (even behind Barnstormer). If you're good on Thunder Mountain, Seven Dwarfs will be a walk in the park...

To a person who loves coaster, it is hard to call it mild. In my mind, Disney developed this coaster to for the young children 6-10, and help build an affinity to coasters.

While I can't say I come close to experiencing motion sickness, my daughter refuses to go on Goofy's Barnstormer due to extreme motion sickness. With that said, she went on Seven Dwarf's and loved it.

To me, the hight of the track tops out somewhere between 12 to 15 feet - which means equates to lower speeds. The sway of the cars is gentle - not even comparable to the bigger coaster where g-force pushes you down in your seat. @Tuvalu has a good suggestion to sit in the front of the coaster.

I'd put it just below the Barnstormer, and just above the PeopleMover. For me, 7DMT is milder than mild. I have noticed a big difference in the amount of "swinging" though, depending on whether we're sitting toward the front or back, and whether the big adults in a section are on the same side, with lighter kids next to them (you get a more exciting ride when it's off-balance).

IMO the order of roughest to mildest:

1. Everest (not really rough, but fast and really fun)
2. Space Mountain (i had forgotten how much this ride jerks you around, i needed a chiropractor afterwards)
3. Rockin Rollercoaster (buttery smooth)
4. BTMRR
5. 7DMT

My husband and I are both prone to motion sickness but wanted to ride it. I asked to sit in the very front row and we did. I used to ride roller coasters until I developed vertigo and motion sickness and this didn't compare to the big coasters at all. That being said, both of us did get slight motion sickness after the ride - I think it had to do with the swinging of the cars. It easily could've been prevented if we had taken Bonine ahead of time. It wasn't bad enough for us not to enjoy our Be Our Guest dinner immediately after. Not even the slight vertigo I experienced in the middle of the dinner because of the inner ear issue.
