I was hoping that with the expiration of the previous specials ending this past weekend that we'd see something for Jan/Feb next BUT NO...yet another discount promo still only for the end of the year. It's a good thing I've been putting money away for it already becuase at this rate, I'll be almost at the 45 day mark for when we want to go by the time they release something...if they release something. Is attendance down so much that they've had to offer three different specials for the same time of year one right after the other? So what gives, I wonder?

We went in January 2011 and promotions had been released in August 2010, which is why I'm getting so antsy. Still have my fingers crossed, though.

I think the general consensus is that Disney is starting to release discounts once they have a good idea of attendance for a time frame, rather than way in advance. From a company standpoint that makes perfect sense... why give people discounts or free food etc. if they are going to come anyway right? In otherwords, if this much in advance, every resort is already over half booked, why try to fill the rooms by offering a discount when there's so much time left for full-price customers to book? Don't get me wrong... I'm also anxiously awaiting some early 2013 discounts (trying to plan for a March trip) but since the official "celebration" for 2013 hasn't even been announced yet (unless I missed it lol) I don't think we'll see them any time soon. I just continue to check every day! LOL! :D

SweetPea, I'm with ya! I'm not good waiting for Christmas either.

I agree totally, Jenn. I'd also think they understand that they may have people who have already booked cancel or reduce their length of stays if they don't come out with something soon since they've set this "early releasing of packages" precedent. Oh, heck! Gotta take more deep breaths.

I am in that number. I always book the cheapest package/room initially. This enables me to make my 180 + 10 dining reservations. I then apply any discount code once they are released. We have discussed moving "off property" if no discounts are offered. This was once considered sacrilege in my household, but the rack rate prices are escalating so quickly. I can no longer justify paying that amount. Before I knew of discounts (circa 2001), we could afford to book a room at the WL with no problem. But now, btw the room rates, the ticket prices and the food costs, Disney is close to pricing me out of a package that includes a "value" resort.

I'm not freaking out yet. Today is Epcot's 30th Anniversary. They need to put together some good promos for the new Fantasyland (other than the ones already released) and put the finishing touches on their 2013 'motto/ theme' and THEN I think they'll release discounts and push like mad to fill up January/ February 2013.
We shall see though. We shall see! :D
