September

Hello,
My next trip to WDW is in September, I live in the UK and have been visiting every year since 2005. We always go around August time which is the busy Summer period, so we are very much used to the crowds and queuing. We have been once in November when it was busy but it didn't seem as crowded as August time.

I have heard that September is the relatively quieter times for Disney parks. Is this true?

September, and even October, was an awesome time to go, still is mostly. F&W creep has expanded to the third week of September so it gets busy sooner but to be honest F&W makes Epcot busy the most and leaves the other three parks pretty light. We're trying to hit what we hope is a sweet spot this year, Sept13-18, between labor day, Sept 1., and the start of F&W, Sept 19.

We were in Disneyworld on September 8-15, 2013....... The crowds were lighter in the parks during the week and very crowded on the weekend. And it is Hot Hot Hot and very very humid....but you have been there in August so you know what the weather is like. Be ready for the PM thunderstorms and downpours. Try to stay away from the MK Friday-Sunday and you should be fine. There will still be lines all week at the most popular attractions, but others are a walk-on. Have a Magical Trip! :cat:

September for us was an awesome experience! We caught MNSSHP and the beginning of Food & Wine and never had to wait in line for any longer than 15 min! We're going back this year too :) Have a great time!

My wife and I have been going to Disney in September for many years now. It has one of the lowest crowd levels. Most days are 1 or 2 on a 10 scale. Florida schools have started and most around the country are starting. Weekend get a little busier mostly MK. So we plan to go to AK or HS on the weekends. On most of the rides we either walk right on the rides or just have to wait till that ride ends before we get on. Yes we have had hot and muggy days with afternoon showers and in 2004 we had the parks closed for a day while hurricane Jean came threw. This is Florida so we deal with it. Go on a ride a second time so when you get off the storm is over. You dry off pretty quickly. Over all the year we have been at other times of the year but feel September has the best balance. We get free Disney dinning on many of the trips. We do the Halloween party most years. Counting the days- 68- till next visit. In 2012 we went in December and this year we are going twice. Was there in May for the Flower and Garden show.

Thank you all soo soo much! We are heading out on the 10th September, for a week which I absolutly cannot wait for! Been through a hurricane back in 2005 called Frances. It meant our flight was cancelled but also meant we got a few extra days in Disney before returning home so not all bad!

As you have all been really helpful, I need honest advice about the new fastpass plus scheme. Dramatically it has all changed since we visited last year where we were able to get fast pass tickets which we loved as we could get as many throughout the day as we wanted and when we park hopped we could get more at each park. I'm extremely passionate about anything Disney does so as soon as the fastpasses went I instantly headed online to see if the new fast pass plus scheme was good. There were mixed reviews. My dad visited in November just gone and said the new system was rubbish as you were only allowed a maximum 3 fast passes for the day for all 4 parks if you are on park hopper. I found this a bit ridiculous because we like to visit the main mountain rides in MK on fastpasses, then head over to HWS for rockin rollercoaster and tower or terror.

Could anyone possibly give me a bit more info about the fast pass plus please?
Thank you! :):D

Once you have used your original three fastpasses, you can go to a kiosk in the park and get a 4th. Once you have used the 4th, you can get a 5th and so on. But your first three fastpasses must be in the same park.

There is an entire forum on this site where you can get answers to all your FP+ questions. You can also use the search feature. Have fun planning!

We went September last year...it's definitely the most quiet I've ever seen the parks. I remember one of the days, DH and DD5 rode BTMR over and over and over again because there was just nobody in MK that morning.

We have gone in September (usually after the 25th) for the last ten years. We love the MNSSHP, most years we have gone twice. It can be HOT, certainly humid, but plan ahead and take breaks and you will be fine. Epcot is crazy after the F&W festival starts, if that bothers you stay away on the weekends! This year we are not going at all, sad the say. Missed the chance to book a room discount, all booked up now, and frankly, while I am sad about it I am also okay. I know WDW will be there when we can return! Have fun!

Our last two trips have been in September and we love it. We do find the weather to be a little hot though. I live in Alabama and it is still just an exhausting heat. We are planning to go in October in 2015 and praying that it is comfortable and quiet despite F&W. We know to avoid Epcot on the weekends. :)
