We have not been in Oct. in a few years. But they were actually very good. Low line waits at the MK. Keep in mind that the Food and Wine festival is going on that first week of Oct. So crowds may be a little more than what We experienced. From what I hear, the food and wine fest. is awesome and worth the larger crowds.

As far as the weather it is typically in the mid 80's and very little rain. I hope this helps, have fun.

It can still be very, very hot. Weather here is so unpredictable. I remember one Thanksgiving asking if it was ever going to cool off, we were still in the 90's every day.

I have gone in the first 2 weeks of October the past two years. Temperatures were comfortable both years, but it rained pretty much the entire trip last year.
Crowds were basically non-existent. The longest lines we waited in were for Soarin', Splash Mountain, but Im sure the other e-tickets also had longer lines. Those waits were less than an hour, so not nearly as bad as they are at other times.
I would recommend going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. If you're not really into the Halloween stuff, the rides in Magic Kingdom are basically walk-on for about 6 hours. The parade & fireworks are amazing, though.

This past year is the first time we went in October. Awesome time to go!
Food and Wine Festival, Mickey's Halloween party, and not that bad crowd wise. Enjoy!

It's been a couple of years since we went in October but we loved it, as the crowds weren't that big and the lines short. The first year we did it, it was warm, the second year it was in the 90's hot and humid.

We visited the World in October for the first time, and I have to say, it was great! The weather was beautiful, the crowds were low, the Food and Wine festival was going on at Epcot and MNSSHP was awesome and definitely worth the extra $$$. I would plan another trip in October in a heart beat. If I weren't so obsessed with going to Disney during the Holiday's, I would be there in October this year too!

The weather is usually still really hot. My family has been lucky and not had any rain during our trips in September for the past two years. The crowds have been fairly light and manageable. We have been there during the opening weekend of the Food and Wine Festival for the past two years. If you plan on going to the Food and Wine Festival, I would recommend going to the vendors when WS opens. The later in the day it gets, the more crowded the vendors get, but if you can get there as WS opens, you should have no problems with lines.

After going to the World in May, June and July....we decided that October is the best time of year to go. Lines and crowds are managable and the temps are usually in the mid to upper 80's.

I have been the first week of October the last 2 years, and it really is a nice time to go. The weather is still hot, but you have a high chance of getting rain off and on. Last year it rained every day, but it's a nice break in the heat. The crowds are generally light and you won't have extended long lines.

I would definitely recommend MNSSHP. It's well worth the money, and it's pretty much a guarantee of 5 hours of walk on rides. Plus it's much cooler at night...an awesome way to spend an evening in the MK!

Have a great trip!

Never been in Oct, but have been in Nov for Food and Wine Fest.
It is GREAT. Maybe not so great if you have little kids, but still lots of fun. Best tip is to do Epcot on weekdays and avoid it on the weekends. Noticeably larger crowds on the weekend as locals come for the Fest. Have fun!

We go this time of year every time we go. We love it!!! The first weekend of the F&W Festival is usually busy, but it falls off quickly with the start of the work week. MNSSHP is fantastic! I would recommend reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern for Dinner to start your evening. My DH and I will also be down there at the same time celebrating our 15th Anniversary with the Mouse. Only a few more months to go!:sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

We visited WDW in late September/early October last year for the first time. We were convinced that it was going to be an amazing time to visit but ended up feeling the exact opposite. I have posted rather lengthy opinions of this time of year in several other threads so I will spare you my diatribe this time, here's a brief overview of the pros and cons...in my opinion.

Pros:
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party-Absolutely amazing, worth every single penny...and then some. Mickey's Boo to You parade is the best parade on property in my opinion and Hallowishes is simply amazing in both the visual sense and the brilliant musical accompaniment. The music for Boo To You is fantastic as well, the CD never leaves our vehicle.

Epcot Food & Wine Festival-Awesome! I could spend an entire week just hanging out in World Showcase anyway but F&WF just makes it that much more amazing. We loved sampling food from all over the world, especially the countries not already represented in World Showcase. Holidays Around The World is still better though.:D

Cons:

OPPRESSIVE HEAT AND HUMIDITY!!!

EXCESSIVE RAIN!!!...it rained...

OPPRESSIVE HEAT AND HUMIDITY!!!

EXCESSIVE RAIN!!!...every...stinkin'...day!

We had been led to believe that the crowds are much smaller this time of year but they sure didn't seem any smaller than the usual times we go(April,December). MNSSHP was jam packed the night we went.

The love bugs were bad but nowhere near as annoying as we had been lead to believe.

Did I mention the oppressive heat and humidity?

We loved MNSSHP so much that we would love to go down for a long weekend again sometime just to do it again but we will probably never spend an entire vacation down there in Sept/Oct again.

We didn't experience either of those during our trip.
