September Honeymoon PTR

Welcome! I am Concetta (25) and my new husband is Aaron (26). We have been to the World together once, in 2009, and have been dying to go back! We got married June 23, 2012 in his hometown of Anderson, IN. Since my whole family was traveling to Indiana from New Jersey for the wedding we decided to put the honeymoon on hold for a couple months so that we could spend the days after the wedding with my family (which was the best choice we made!). Our wedding was amazing and everything was perfect (except for the DJ who brought his girlfriend to the wedding and she got drunk and starting asking people for tips and he only played like half the songs we requested...don't get me started because I will start yelling!) Anyway a little bit more about the wedding becaue it was Disney infused! All the ceremony music was Disney, our centerpieces were single roses in vases inspired by Beauty and the Beast, escort cards were crystal shoes like Cinderella and I wore Cinderella's gown by Alfred Angelo. Our cake topper was the red lego T-Rex with lego bride and groom on it, the same lego t-rex from DTD. My cousin actually came up to me and said that she felt like she was in Disney World! Just a few pics so you can see what I'm talking about.

We are staying at Pop Century Resort from September 22-29 (Free Dining!-we upgraded to the regular dining plan instead of the quick service) and this will be our first time staying on property as adults. We stayed at my Aunt's timeshare at Sheraton Vistana Resort in 2009. We are very excited about getting away from Indiana for a week, since the wedding life has been so crazy! We are looking forward to relaxing and exploring and just having no worries! Next post I will share a breakdown of what we plan to do each day and where we plan on eating!!!

Congrats on the wedding!! Love the Disney inspiration behind it. Staying on property is awesome! I will be there the 24-Oct 1, also with free dining!! Seems like a popular time of year around here. We own at Sheraton Vistana and while it's nice and the units are spacious, it's no Disney that's for sure!!

  • Flight from Indianapolis to MCO arrives around 6:30 pm. We will make our way straight to DME (first time using it!). DH is very excited to not have to drive all vacation. I do not have my drivers license (my father passed away in a car accident when I was 13 and I have never driven a car), so Aaron is forced to drive all the time no matter where we go! So having the disney transportation gives him the ability to drink some adult beverages.
  • Check-in at Pop Century and drop off some stuff at our hotel room before we start to explore our resort and the new AoA resort! We decided not to request a building because he wants to stay in the 90's building because that was the decade we grew up in but I want to have a view of hour glass lake, so we decided we will leave it up to Disney.
  • Hopefully we will be able to see IllumiNations from Pop while we are exploring. I plan on going to bed fairly early because this is just the start to our amazing week!

  • Our 3 monthiversary so we have some special things planned for today!
  • Magic Kingdom!!!! the last Disney trip we took, we didn't do a Park Hopper option (only regret!) so we went to the Magic Kingdom on the first day and never got to go back that whole week :( That will not be the case this trip
  • We will hopefully get there by rope drop and will make our way around Magic Kingdom starting in Adventureland. We plan on eating lunch at Pecos Bill's Tall Tale Inn.
  • 5:30 we have reservations to do a horse drawn carriage ride at Fort Wilderness. I really want to go explore the Wilderness Lodge, so I am planning on stopping by there before the carriage ride. I guess it depends on how much fun we are having at the Magic Kingdom. (we used the honeymoon wishes registry for the wedding and my cousin gifted us with the carriage ride)
  • Back to the Magic Kingdom
  • Dinner ressies at Cinderella's Royal Table to celebrate our 3 monthiversary! I don't care that we will not have any children with us...I am just super excited to meet the princesses and be in the castle!
  • Magic Kingdom has EMH til midnight so we are going to try to stay all night and enjoy every second we can of our first full day at the World
more to come.....

  • Epcot in the morning (of course we are heading straight to Soarin' just like the rest of the masses)
  • My plan is to tour Future world until 11am and then head to World Showcase
  • Lunch ressies at Teppan Edo at 12:10
  • After lunch we plan on making our way to the Hollywood Studios' boat so we can hopefully make the 3 o'clock parade because we love Pixar!
  • Spend the rest of the day at Hollywood Studios and we plan on seeing Fantasmic! for the first time.
Tuesday, September 25, 2012
  • Universal's Island of Adventure (I know...why are we leaving Disney property? well my husband is a huge Jurassic Park fan, so we are just going there to see dinosaurs)
  • After Universal we plan on getting dropped off at Downtown Disney to do some shopping!
  • Dinner ressies at T-Rex cafe at 9:30. More dinosaurs!!!
Wednesday, September 26, 2012
  • Breakfast ressies at 9:05 at Tusker House (YAY!)
  • Since this is the only day we plan on being at Animal Kingdom my goal is to see everything we want. We are both going to wear our Lion King t-shirts this day and plan on seeing the Festival of the Lion King (my husband is not a big show guy so it took me forever to convince him to go see it). He also said to me yesterday that he wants to ride the Dinosaur ride 5 times! He was truly amazed by the technology in that ride the last time we were there....I mean a dinosaur actually runs after you! that doesn't happen in the Jurassic Park ride.
  • After Animal Kingdom we are going to go back to our hotel and rest or swim for a while.
  • Head to Downtown Disney for our dinner ressies at Raglan Road Pub at 7:15. I didn't know they had dancing and singing there until a couple weeks ago and it sounded like so much fun!
  • After dinner we are going to head to Epcot again to explore more of World Showcase and see Illuminations again.

  • We originally planned on doing all four parks today but after thinking about how much time we will be spending traveling from park to park we decided it was something we should try when we have a rental car.
  • Magic Kingdom!
  • We do have a Bass Fishing excursion booked at the 10 am spot leaving from the Contemporary Resort. We are very excited about this new experience for us! Last year we look a vacation to visit my family in New Jersey and all the guy cousins went fishing and all the girl cousins went shopping at Cape May. Aaron got sick of course....he had never been on the ocean before! He said it was the most fun he ever had throwing up haha Well he really missed out on fishing and I promised him that he would get to do it again....this time its at Disney World! I cannot wait to see the view....and catch some fish!
  • Magic Kingdom closes at 9 and we have ressies at Ohana for 9:30. I didn't really think about it until last week but how are we suppose to get back to Pop? The last park closes at 9 that night and I am pretty sure we are going to finish dinner at Ohana and have no way home....Hopefully someone at the Poly will be able to call us a cab or something. I am not going to worry about it because there is almost no way that we will be able to change that ressie so close to the date.
I hope you are enjoying my PTR so far....more to come.....

  • We will be starting that day at DHS with morning EMH. Of course we will be heading straight to TSMM to get Fastpasses.
  • We don't plan on staying at DHS too long because we want to get to Epcot for the first day of the F&W festival. We will stay at DHS long enough to see everything we want and hopefully get a cupcake from Starring Rolls.
  • Then to Epcot for some amazing food....I am kind of a picky eater but there are some things that I cannot wait to try! Like periogies and keilbasa from Poland, the cheddar soup from Canada, sushi from Japan, and I know my DH is going to want some beer and desserts
  • Since this will be our last night in a park this vacation, I am planning on staying past park closing and wondering the countries as long as we can.

  • Departure day
  • Since DH doesn't really like flying I booked the only direct flight back to Indy but unfortunently it departs from MCO at 1:25 which means we don't get much time in the morning to really enjoy anything.
  • My plan is to wake up and make sure everything is packed. Then head to the food court to get some POP waffles!
  • We will be back in Indy by 3:30 :(

  • Even tho our vacation isn't for another 16 days, we are pretty much already packed! I am kind of an over packer but since we are flying Southwest we don't have to worry about baggage fees for our first check in bag.

Large Red Suitcase-check in
  • pretty much all of our clothing will be in this bag (with room for gifts!)
  • We have a Disney t-shirt for every day! I am the type of person that every weekend I am wearing a Disney shirt! Even sometimes at work when I know I have no meetings I wear Disney shirts! Everyone at works knows I am Disney obsessed!
Small Pink Suitcase-check in
  • snacks (individually wrapped ritz cracker sandwiches, chips ahoys, mini cereal boxes and cereal bars for in room breakfast, and coolaid drink flavoring)
  • all of our toiletries
  • disposable bowls for our morning cereal (we plan on buying a half gallon of milk from the food court) and plastic spoons
  • binoculars
  • Donald and Goofy parachute guys that we can play with from the top floor of our resort! and a mini frisbee that my DH wants to bring but I am pretty sure we will not play with
  • disposable cameras (left over from our wedding)
Small Black Suitcase-carry on
  • everything we need for our first night there (since we won't be getting to MCO until 6:30 I thought we might need some stuff before our large suitcases come in)
  • bathing suits
  • one outfit each just in case!
  • Kissing Simba & Nayla stuffed animals - I saw online that some people decorate thier POP windows and since this is our honeymoon I wanted to do something romanitc and I found Kissing Simba & Nayla toys at walmart on sale so I had to buy them!
  • 2 ponchos
  • umbrella
  • lanyards
Mini Backpack-personal carry on item
  • all our money
  • Mickey Mail!
  • sunglasses
  • basic purse items and travel items to keep us entertained on our flight
I have not decided yet whether or not I want to bring my laptop. I do not have a carrying case which means I will have to either pack it in a larger backpack or in my luggage. I don't really know if we will even have time to use it while we are there but I am sure it would be nice to have something to keep us entertained while we are traveling that isn't our phones. Any opinions?

We got a postcard in the mail today from Disney and we were chosen to try the new Fastpass Plus! I was so excited when I got it in the mail I was jumping up and down!!! I never even expected it to come in the mail because I was reading about everyone else getting emails. Well I wanted to do it as soon as I walked in the door with it but our nephews were coming over and I had to start dinner right away ;) Well as soon as the left I went on the site! I was all excited so I kind of hurried through it but I did that knowing I could change it at any time! I selected Sunday, September 23 because that was the same day we planned on being in MK. You got to select two "experiences" from two different sections. We decided on Space Mountain, Mickey's PhilarMagic, Peter Pan's Flight, and Haunted Mansion. The next step is selecting the time, they give you like 4 different itineraries to pick from. I decided on the first one because it was earlier in the day and we have a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness at 5:30 pm and CRT at 8:05 pm so this is what we ended up with right now
Space Mountain 10:05 am - 11:05 am
Mickey's PhilarMagic 11:50 am - 12:50pm
Peter Pan's Flight 12:50 pm-1:50 pm
Haunted Mansion 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm (was originally given 1:50-2:50 but changed it because we might want to head to the hotel for a little in the afternoon)

I was really hoping to get this chance to be a part of this Fastpass Plus testing. Now I just have to get there so I can actually test it out. It's so close that it doesn't even feel real....For the past 18 months I have either been planning our wedding or planning our Disneymoon. This is going to be an awesome end to our just beginning life together....12 DAYS!!!!!

What a honeymoon...I mean Disneymoon you have planned!!! Congrats on the wedding!! Your pictures are beautiful!! Just a quick note on the night at Ohana's... why not after dinner take a bus to DTD and then a bus to POP? We did this on our last trip and had a late ADR at Kona Cafe and it worked out fine! We are staying at POP the same time as you!! Maybe we will be in the background of each others pics lol!! Have a very MAGICAL Disenymoon!!!
