Pre-Trip September 2015 WDW/ Dream 3-Day Cruise Trip

Hi there!! Just wanted to go ahead and start this thread, in case anyone has any feedback for our plans.

Here are the nuts & bolts of our upcoming trip:

WHO: Just my husband Dave, and myself, Amber.

I have been a member on these forums for several years, and have posted I think 3 or 4 prior trip reports. I like being able to look back on them to relive my trips. Disney World has always been my happy place; this will be my 11th trip to the World. The last trip was our Disneymoon, with extended family. Dave, who prior to that trip, had only been as a child in the 70s, THANKFULLY ended up liking Disney almost as much as I do, so here we are planning this trip, just the two of us. Dave was very eager to try a cruise as well, so we are doing both. (I've cruised, but not with Disney).

WDW Portion of Trip---

WHERE: Boardwalk Inn for 5 nights

TICKETS: 3 day PH

WHEN: September 13-18, 2015

Cruise Portion of Trip---

WHERE: Disney Dream, 3 day Bahamas itinerary
Stateroom #6572

WHEN: September 19-22, 2015

I originally was hoping to go a Halloween Party, but the dates just didn't quite work out for me the way I wanted, plus Dave didn't like how crowded it was last year. So now, I'm actually hoping that we can plan accordingly around the Party (as in, going to MK the day after the party, with the thinking people will have attended the night prior)

Our 180 days is this Tuesday, but we are hoping to utilize any pin code I may get (I get them often), or any free dining/ room discount that may come out. We actually would rather use the room discount, even if it might mean switching resorts. So we aren't planning many ADRS, as we won't be doing free dining. We will just snack and use counter service to fill in. That being said here are our tentative plans/ADR plans:

9/13, Arrival Day- We will be leaving from GA early morning, driving, and hopefully arrive in WDW by 12/1. ADR for 2:15 @ Raglan Road...I've never eaten here, and Dave hasn't been to DTD. I haven't been there for several years, either, actually. Figured since this is a non-park day, that would be a good time to head there.

9/14, another non-park day. Hang out by the pool, then resort hop. There are a couple we want to explore, but ending up at Animal Kingdom Lodge, which neither of us has seen. Hoping to get a 4:30/5 pm dinner ADR at Boma. Have to try zebra domes!!

9/15, our first park day! We will be heading to DHS in the morning, and Animal Kingdom in the afternoon. We want to be at DHS rope - drop to ride Toy story, and RnRC and ToT. Hopeful that we can save our FP+ selections for DAK that afternoon. Another must do at DHS is a butterfinger cupcake!! Head to DAK, hopefully with FP+ for EE, the Safari, and Lion King. After park close, head to the Beach Club for dinner ADR @ Beaches & Cream.

9/16, Magic Kingdom! We will start off the day with a 7:30 breakfast at Kona Cafe (tonga toast!!) Then rope drop at MK. Hoping to FP+ 7DMT, the FoF Parade, and not sure what else....maybe Splash. Spend all day here.

9/17, Epcot! No ADRS this day, we will snack and counter service at our whim. Originally when we planned this trip, we were hoping this would be F&W soft open, but then the dates were pushed back. No worries, maybe the park will be less crowded?? Spend all day here.

Then it's back to the resort to repack, and get a good night's sleep. Next day, head to the port for our 3 night cruise!!

Cruise: Don't have this as planned out, but we know we want to change our Enchanted Garden spot in the rotation to Palo. Can't wait to see Castaway Cay!! Also, we are fairly certain we will spend the Nassau day on the ship. Dave really wants to do the Aquaduck.

So, I think that's it for now. Will update when we are certain what ADRS we are able to get, though I don't forsee problems with the places we've chosen this time, right? Any feedback greatly appreciated!

It is a good location. We had a similar location towards the aft elevators, but midship is great. You are far enough away from the elevator lobby that you shouldn't hear any noise.

OK so you want to give up Enchanted Garden...I had heard it wasn't the best but in the end I had my favorite meal of the cruise (outside of Palo brunch) there. I would give up Animators palate if you've seen Turtle Talk at Epcot- the menu is not that exciting.
Looks like your stateroom is right off the stairs/elevator bank midship- we were there too and you will LOVE that location, you can get everywhere easily from there. Surprisingly it is quiet there!

I, too, woul take Enchanted Garden over Animator's Palette.

Update:

28 days and counting!!!!

This is the crazy list-making, document printing, piles-of-clothes lying around time!! I love it!

Slight change in plans: hubby suggested leaving on Saturday, Sept. 12th in the early afternoon, driving the almost 5 hours (without traffic) to Lake City, FL, then driving the rest of the way the following morning after a nice leisurely breakfast, swim, and shower. Sounds good to me! So we booked a night at the Country Inn & Suites today.

Also, we have our FP+ in place as follows:
Tuesday 9/15 (DHS/DAK) DINOSAUR 1:05, Kilimanjaro Safari 2:05, FotLK 3:30.
Wednesday 9/16 (MK) 7DMT 10:45, Splash 12:45, Festival of Fantasy parade 2:45.
Thursday 9/17 (Epcot) Spaceship Earth 9:45, Soarin 10:45, Mission Space 11:45.

I think that's it for now; our travel documents and package came from Storybook Destinations yesterday, so the time is almost here! Just waiting on our Magic bands.

Didn't want to bump the thread with more updates but two things:
1. Our Magic bands have arrived!, and
2. We added an ADR at 50s Prime Time. A sentimental fave of mine. Not something my hubby ever really wanted to try (hes not a fan of the shtick) but he graciously suggested that I get there one more time just *in case* it is a casualty of DHS expansion. The ADR is on Tuesday 9/15 @11.

Soooooo close now!! We leave in 4 days!

We are all packed, everything's set to go. All I will need to grab Saturday before leaving is the toiletry bag and our phone chargers. I did find out I have a work meeting from 9-11 on Saturday morning, but that will be no problem. Might save me from being too antsy at home, waiting for departure time!

Some updates-Along with the addition of a Prime Time Cafe lunch on our DHS day, we decided to push our Raglan Road meal back from 2:15 to 4:45 on arrival day, so that we had a better chance of seeing the dancers/ entertainment.

I think that is all of the updates and news for now.

We did! Same night as you, I believe. Saturday night, Day #2. We are at 8:00pm.
Excellent! We grabbed a 5:45 spot, hoping to catch the sunset this time around. Be sure to put in that you want the souffle early so they have time to prep and cook it for you, you wont be sorry!

Wanted to ask you: how much in tolls do you think it would take for the trip to WDW, then to the Port?
We always travel the Florida turnpike and take 429S to the Western Way exit. This will run you right at $5 in tolls, $4.80 if you have a SunPass according to our SunPass account. The trip from the hotel to the port will run you about another $5. Before we went with SunPass we would always bring $20 in ones and a couple dollars on quarters, always had some left over too.

Excited for y'all...and definitely second ordering the soufflé when you get seated at Palo. I told Mr. HP this too, but y'all should have no problems changing your Palo reservations if you decide to do so. I think we changed ours at least twice while on board.

Thanks for the heads up on the Butterfinger Muffin at DHS. I'd not heard of this until now. My wife is a Butterfinger addict and will really enjoy it. It's at Starring Rolls? Anywhere else?

Enjoying the FB updates. Y'all have fun!

It's a cupcake not a muffin, muffin makes it sound almost healthy. :p I think Starring Rolls is the only place to get it but I could be mistaken.
