Sending stuff back to the room

I've read where if you buy something in a store you can have them send it to your room. My daughter wants to wear a princess dress to CRT breakfast but then change after, is it possible to have the dress sent back to the room instead of carrying it around all day? I was wondering if anyone has done this or any suggestions you guys may have.
Thanks :)

For purchases of items, yes, they can be sent back to your resort. They are delivered to your resort's main gift shop, where you can pick them up. I believe the pick up time is after noon on the day following your purchase.

As far as I'm aware, they won't send back items that aren't a new purchase at one of the stores, so you'll have to carry the dress with you, or you could consider storing it at a locker at Magic Kingdom until you're heading out at the end of your day.

The easiest thing to do would be to rent a locker, but I have heard of others purchasing something small/inexpensive in the store and then see if they will put the dress in with it to send back to your room. They could also send it to the package pick-up desk at the front of the park. However, people have reported mixed success with this - it depends on the CM you deal with.

I don't think they would send it back to the resort, although I have never asked for this.

Tbh I would be wary. My (adult!) daughter felt sorry for a safari Tigger at AK as his hat was battered. Unknown to her, our friend purchased it and arranged for it to be sent back to our resort. It didn't appear for sererval days, to the obvious embarassment of the staff at WL Mercantile. After about 6 days he received a message on the room phone to say it had arrived.

When he opened it later, it clearly was a replacement Tigger - no battered hat! He didn't say anything to the staff, at least the package arrived and they weren't to know the reason he'd purchased it in the first place.

Some six weeks after our return to the UK a package arrived at his home - yes, you guessed! The Battered Hat Tigger. 10 out of 10 for customer service to Disney :)

Uni sends stuff to your room, not Disney. Well, Disney sends it to your room if you pay for club level. Sometimes they leave it on the bed, sometimes they leave it on a dresser or something. I'm not sure if there is any rhyme or reason to where in the room they set the bag down.

Otherwise, you can have it sent to the front of the park and pick it up later that day or you can have it sent to your hotel, where you pick it up in a gift shop.

It really does depend on the CM whether they would allow you to add the dress to a bag with a purchase in it to be sent to the room. At Downtown Disney it seemed every store had a different policy. I've never tried to put non-purchased items in but here is my experience in a few hours:

  • Little Miss Matched allowed us to put our stuff from Tren-D in the same bag and they sent it back to the room
  • Basin allowed all 3 of us to combine our purchases into one bag (3 separate purchases - all of us in one room)
  • World of Disney made us each fill out a separate form even though one friend only had a mug and another had some gourmet popcorn and I had a big bag with sweatpants and a hoodie. We asked if they could all go in one bag since we were all in one room and she said no. Then after she had everything sealed up she gave the bag with the popcorn in it with the delivery slip attached back to my friend and told her she can't deliver it because it's food.
  • The Lego store let us put all of our purchases AND the popcorn in one bag and delivered it.

By the end we wondered what on earth they would do next...not bag everything and tell us to walk it back to the room. It was definitely not a consistant policy being used throughout.

Oops. I was assuming OP would be buying the dress there and sending it back. My bad!

No, they don't ship random stuff back to the hotel. You can get a locker, though. :)

You get things you buy except food items sent to your resort where you can pick up the next day. They will leave a message on your room phone when they have it. No personal items allowed because of insurance issues. What if the package was lost? You have a receipt for the items you bought but would not have any record of your personal items. A locker is your best choice.

Well, the CM was correct in not sending the popcorn through Package Delivery. They do not send any food products (even those that are sealed and don't require refrigeration). Though I admit it was an oversight on the CM's part in not realizing it until after the transaction was done.

As for the Lego Store, I don't believe they sell any food products at all. And since it's a stand-alone store and not staffed by Disney CMs, it's not surprising that the people working there didn't know of the "no food" policy since they normally don't encounter having to send food in their normal sales transactions
