Had completely forgotten about this until something reminded me a moment ago, but when I visited last fall they had a couple of stations at Pecos Bill's with touch screen ordering. You could scan your credit card or resort card and do all your ordering depending on DDP or whatever. After that it printed your receipt and you went forward to wait for your food like normal.

Do they still have these? Has it been expanded at all? Personally I liked it because everything was right in front of you and with DDP it was very clear on the options. As a bonus, no one was using them, so I skipped a pretty big line by heading this way.

Still had them at Pecos Bills last week. Didn't see them at Cosmic Ray's, Columbia Harbor House or Pinnochio's.

I thoroughly enjoyed that method of ordering too. I wish more places would get it. I think Cosmic Rays would be a great place to get it next.

Additionally, I like the controlled seating method that some counter service places have implemented. We encountered it at Pizzafari earlier this month and it was great to not have to wander around with trays of food trying to find a seat. The only drawback was the amount of young children in the lines. I felt sorry for the parents trying to carry their food and wrangle toddlers. The restaurant needs a bigger waiting area where people who would have normally gone ahead and grabbed a table can wait.

Contempo cafe has had the self-serve ordering for at least a year now. We ordered that way when we stayed at BLT last September.

The Pecos ones worked just fine when we tried them before Summer blackout. Pretty straight-forward and streamlined.

Thanks for the info - I'd definitely love to see it expanded more. I think most of the CS locations would benefit from its addition, especially Cosmic Rays. Hopefully they considered it a success and are looking to include it in the future.

It's a little different from the Pecos Bill location though. You only put your order in but pay at a cashier. Or at least you did last year. :lol:

That's what we did at Captian Cooke's when we ate there too. You self-ordered but you couldn't pay at the machine itself. Has this changed?
