Segway Tours

I searched to see if there was a similar thread, but could not find one. My apologies if this is the wrong place.

My friend and I went on the Segway tour around World Showcase and thoroughly enjoyed it. Why dont they have segway tours for the other parks? I think that it would be perfect for Animal Kingdom after hours. It would probably be difficult to do it at Magic Kingdom, but could be very popular.

And random question - what happened to Cool Club? I couldn't find it in Innovations when I went in March. Was it on the refurb list?

There is an outdoor tour at Ft. Wilderness that doesn't really educate you like the Epcot world showcase tour, you just ride around on walking trails looking at trees and water instead of different nations of the world.

There is also a new segway tour offered at EPCOT, but is more of a combination of the Around the World and Undiscovered Future World Tours.

DAK would be a fun location for a segway tour, but since the tour wouldn't focus on how neato animals are, it won't be approved.

Oh, forgot about the second question:

Club Cool is still located in the same location: behind Character Spot and fountainview bakery. Beverly awaits you.

Oh, sweet. It didnt show up on the maps and everybody thought that I was crazy when I asked about. Im going in a few months so that will be one of the first stops.

Has anybody done the fort wilderness tours? Is it worth it? Probably not as good as the Epcot one.

I feel like its hard to get a good understanding of the layout of AK when walking around with the crowds. Its just so big and isnt as neatly laid out like MK and Epcot.

Ooo! I loved the "Around the World Segway Tour"!!! I had the best time this past January when I went.

I would love it if they did something similar at the MK -- I think it'd cool! Honestly I could live without an AK option. Not really that fond of that park, but your ideas have merit. :D

My guess, and its only a guess, is because of the staged opening times in EPCOT.

I doubt they want guests Segwaying around where other guests are walking. Because the WS opens later you can have the tours start in FW and then move to the closed area.

Yes, there are people walking in FW, and yes the later tours can still be in the WS after it opens, but for the most part you are in light guest traffic.

Maybe they could have them at the other parks, but they would have to be before park opening.

They refurbished it around 2005. They refaced it by taking away the ice burg and the entrance is just the run of the mill innoventions windows but the sign should of been there. But are you saying you know what the new look looks like and you just couldn't find it I dont know.

I just did the Segway tour at FW and it was amazing!!! It was 2 hours and we went through a lot of trails and even to the rear entrance of River Country!

I did the Segway tour at Epcot - I highly recommend it. I agree with Dave, it would be really hard to have done the tour with crowds. We were on a later tour that did run into some crowds. With heavier crowds during the whole tour, it would have been stressful.

My thoughts on why Epcot is the only park with the Segway tour is because a Segway fits in with Epcot's vibe. It's an innovation in itself, and is one of those "things on the future" that is becoming part of "now". They have a training room set up inside Innoventions that you have to do for an hour before you go out into the park. I don't know if they would have an area for such in place in other parks, but I think it could be done.

It would be cool to see a Segway tour in another park, before open or after close, if it was possible. We had a great time & learned a lot of new things!

My wife and I did the both the epcot & FW segway tour. The FW was a really great experience. The training isn't quite as long/involved as the EPCOT tour. Most likely b/c you don't really encounter people as much. You tour the tri-circle D ranch which is where they keep the horses. Went over to the wilderness lodge for a bit. It was quite peaceful and relaxing. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
